That's OK cos our bar limit is 200 including sponsors and invited guests. Assuming all boxes filled, Fev bring all their directors and buddies and all the other free riders that turn up, then bar is full so no room for away supporters (or true home fans) any road. However Huntington Sports Club will defo invite you before the game with advance notice. You obviously don't know Lowfield! Trust me - he would have spent up!
Hey owd cock, like I said on my previous post, if you're happy, crack on! I'll not lose any sleep over it!
I'm expecting 4-500 of us making the journey. I don't want to keep walking from one side of the ground to the other or pay to go into a stand for the privelage of being nearer to the bars! . If you do, that's ok! I'm happy letting the bus driver ferry me about before the game whilst the cash I would have spent in the ground goes 'out of the game' as andyacko said earlier!
If you're happy with how things are - great owd cock, enjoy! Just don't have a pop at our lot if we choose to do something else!
It's not exactly the collapse of the bank of england!

fair do's! I think we're sorting something along those lines! Perhaps lunch and a few in a boozer somewhere - there's not exactly a shortage if we're on a bus!

Ought to just say, at this point, lads that no one has to pay the extra £2 to access the bar so not certain that the point about not spending money in the bar is therefore relevant. The extra £2 is to sit down. If you do access the bar, unless you are a guest or a director, you can't watch the match live from the bar only on the telly.
At the end of the day, it's all about supporting rugby league, surely.
I go to Fev, I buy a programme, a golden gamble etc, half the time at away matches I pay even though I've got a media pass. It's about supporting the game in general whether it's your own side or Fev or Hunslet or anywhere else.
Lets face it, if everyone else goes to the wall, who ya gonna play ? Ghostbusters ?
If we all go and sup in Joe Bloggs boozer, that money has gone out of the game of Rugby League and a club down the road then can't afford to sign the likes of Menzie Yere or Jessie Joe Parker, who are just magic to watch.
Forget fev for 1 min, i went as 1 of many parents last night with no affiliation to either club, it wasnt made easy for us to spend money in your bar. if the club is happy with that fair enough

You dont want to walk from one side of the ground to another to get a pint before or after the game, but you'll drive a few miles to find another pub? That doesnt make sense, owd cock. You obviously don't know Lowfield! Trust me - he would have spent up!

Well I won't go to Featherstone then or spend my £20 in your bar either, so well done you too. And if i do go, i'll go to one of those awful boozers up the road instead.Look m8 its like this, i have no feelings for york Knights, or leeds Rhinos, i went as my son was playing in a curtain raiser, i paid in and will be damded if i was paying again to sit down. The bit about lazy parents is pathetic, we all had to cart about our kids kit bags etc and as they got changed right under the main seated area would it not of made sence to put the parents there. I wont be paying anymore for any taxi sunshine the price for the minibus will be the same wether it stops at a pub nearby or your club house. Im no tight wad i spend litterly thousands per season at grounds up and down the country, but your post is hardly likely to make me and the rest spend any at york, well done again

Told you before mate. We are supporters as you are, so complain to those that make the decisions. This is a fans forum, not a director's forum. If you want a laugh about rugby look at Yorks fixture list with Barrow and London away in NRC and Toulouse away on Easter Monday night after a Good Friday afternoon game against Hunslet. Point being Hunslet and Toulouse only play once each that weekend and York play twice. Plus if you cost up trying to get to and from Toulouse for a Monday night game for a couple you are talking £200 more than playing Toulouse on a Saturday night like every other club has to this season. That makes £2 for transfers seem totally insignificant.Look m8 its like this, i have no feelings for york Knights, or leeds Rhinos, i went as my son was playing in a curtain raiser, i paid in and will be damded if i was paying again to sit down. Well there's pubs en route anyway owd cock, so it matters little, eh. There's nowhere nearer or cheaper or freer to get into than the bar at the ground through.it does if the bus stops en route owd cock! But hey, no mind eh?

You really are a foolish man, all the people on the Rovers forum openly encourage all fans to drink at the bars in the ground. If i was a director or genuine fan of York i would be very annoyed at how your answering genuining concerns on behalf of the club

and i have told you before i aint complaining, and your still missing the point,
Heres my point, anyone know of a good club or pub near the ground that will happily let 17 people part with some money, for a nice drink before the game a week sun

I think you're missing the point actually. There is a bar at the ground which is free to enter but which has a max capacity of 200 people. It sells beer and food at reasonable prices. You will be made welcome before and after the game, assuming you can get in, just as you would have been made welcome last night had you chosen to go in. It is on the opposite side of the ground to the terraced stand, which is a short walk away. It is on the same side of the ground as the main stand (the one with seats).and i have told you before i aint complaining, and your still missing the point,

There are many good pubs in and around York, though some of them won't let a crowd of 17 (football fans, rugby fans, stag parties, etc) go blundering in. There aren't any close to the ground, though.
I suggest you take your gripes about paying an extra £2, as a parent, to sit down at last night's match to the club's directors. I am obviously not answering questions on behalf of the club, as you suggest, but they might. I'm just pointing out that there's not much logic in what you said other than raising the question of prices at friendly matches and/or for parents of curtain-raising kids.
Thanks

how can you complain about paying to £2 to get in the stand, as your child was playing your entry fee was only £5.. you seem abit tight tbh and trying to create a problem where there isn't, you cant get to the bar from the stand anyway you have to use the stairs at the side :/

I've been asked to clarify the following:
It's £13 to get in at the Knights, with a £2 option to sit in the main stand. Due to a limited amount of seats the club have to control the seating. In hindsight though, they shouldn't have charged for a seating transfer for a friendly and I don't think they will be doing in future. The Knights could just charge £15 to get in the ground like Featherstone do, with a first come first served policy on the seating but people would need to get in early just to get a seat. The beer in the bar is Fosters at £3 a pint, John Smiths is £2.60 which is just 5p more than the nearest local pub - The Flag & Whistle.
