Please forgive me  It's just that I seem to remember a thread on the Batley forum requesting a bigger trophy cabinet? With visits to Hunslet (next week) and Halifax (3 weeks), I feel that a a small cabinet to house the " First Choice Superstore Challenge Trophy" will be sufficient.

Don't know about wheels coming off (or even running into peak form).
I do know that Batley were very poor yesterday and let themselves (and the fans)down.
Usual lack of consistency from game to game (my most often complaint since 1980-81 season!)

Contributing factors: -
poor weather
whistle-happy ref (but with plenty of niggles to penalise)
oh and let's not forget a very good Leigh side

4/10. Must do better.

BSJ got it spot on. My comment was just to create a little bit of early season banter. I am not reading anything into the scores from the initial games. One thing I feel is a certainty though, Leigh will be tough this year.

Leigh looked good, and are a huge side. However, we sort of got a bit of a beating at their place early on last season, and it turned out ok in the end.

I think, as Young 'un points out, early days yet.

I think the trouble with Leigh is they soon get complacent. On Sunday they probably came to the Mount to prove a point (with you guys being the cup holders), and therefore played to their full potential. When they come to a game they think they can win easy then they come off the rails. It happened against us last year!

I think the way in which both the rams and the dogs finished last season, gave us cause for great optimism for this season - possibly more than we may be able to realise. Looking at the various squads - particularly those at the more fashionable clubs in the championship, a fair amount of cash has been thrown at team strengthening. It could quite easily be that the gap between the haves and the have nots is considerably more apparent this season. Fingers crossed though.
