If a player kicks a high ball and the ball gets lodged between the join of the crossbar and a post (highly unlikely I know)

How would the game restart?

If a player crosses his opponents line, is tackled and the referee signals ' held up' and that player then releases the ball backwards and a team mate collects the ball and touches down, what's your decision ?

If called held, then tackle is surely complete. Therefore any subsequent offload should be a penalty for the defending team.

If the ball gets stuck on the crossbar and the upright, it would start with a new ball.

Answered my own question on another post, John. Ref never called held - his signal was that the tackled player's ball carrying arm had'nt hit the ground , though evidence might suggest otherwise Posted Image
