I'd have said he was hiding from the pre-season training police but he had a stormer on Sunday!

Can't understand the stick you lot give to poor old Robbie. He has been, and still is a terrific player and an ambassador for the game both on and off the pitch. Is it because he comes over as an articulate and intelligent lad that upsets the dogs supporters ? I've spoken to him a couple of times in the gym, when he was still at the giants, and he seems a thoroughly decent bloke - wish we had him up at the rams, he would improve our chances significantly (might make the finances creak a bit though).

I think some of the contempt that Batley fans hold for Robbie P resonate from some of the rather ill-judged comments he made on Radio Leeds in the run up to the Northern Rail Cup Semi Final.

To be fair to him, he's still got it on the pitch to an extent, as he demonstrated last Sunday. The guy pretty much controlled the game from start to finish. His movement and passing from the play-the-ball was superb.
What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

Or one forum poster (if avatars don't lie!)
To put the record straight. My question was a genuine one and in no way "Getting at" Robbie. He has my great respect as a player but may be I'm biased as he's a KIWI!. I can't give an opinion about the value of his commentary as I don't listen to that down here.

Any rugby league player who takes on his wifes maiden name whilst studying for a media degree needs to spend time dahnt pit supping watery bovril on a diet of tripe and mucky fat for a week, playing amateur rugby for heckmondwike panthers and getting paid a paltry 35p for his trouble!

Like I said, I can only judge him as a player and a person, and I have to say, when he was with the Bradford, he could be breath taking. I really couldn@t give a jot if he chooses to call himself Robbie paul hunter, hunter paul robbie, robbie john paul getty or pope robbie paul the 3rd,I still wish he was a ram. As a presenter, he is knowledgable, and articulate - can't see that it would be a problem with anybody but the flat at an whippet brigade.
