Thoughts on the Experimental Kicking Rule being trialed in the All Stars game ?
I could see quite a few players that would relish this version of a chip n chase
Rule Change: If a player in possession of the ball in his team’s half of the field kicks the ball and it is re-gathered by him or any member of his team, the referee shall signal 6 more tackles for the team in possession provided that -:
- The ball has traveled at least 5 metres in a forward direction (towards the opponent’s goal line).
- The kick has reached the point at which the previous play the ball (ruck) took place.
- The ball is regained by the attacking team prior to the half way mark. If the ball is kicked in the defensive half of the field but is regained in the attacking half, the referee shall not restart the tackle count.

Wow. If that's coming in it is something that will be used often by any team with sense.

Good entertaining match. Not close enough for my liking. Nobody made use of the "New Rule". This was probably due to lack of opportunity. Pity though.

Just watched the game. Thought it was a great spectacle. It's just brilliant watching all these high class players on the same pitch doing some freakish things they probably wouldn't try in an origin game. I think the thing that stood out for me was how these players nearly always make the right decision and how elusive they are. Uate and Dugan I thought were fantastic going forward. Some class touches as per usual from Lockyer and Marshall. On the Aboriginal team Barba and Matty Bowen looked in good form going into the season. Can't wait for it to get going now.
