DEVON SHARKS
EAST DEVON EAGLES
EXETER CENTURIONS
NORTH DEVON RAIDERS
PLYMOUTH TITANS
SOMERSET VIKINGS
SOUTH DORSET GIANTS
SOUTH SOMERSET WARRIORS
No new names but intriguingly a South West County Championship held at Vikings' ground.
Rather implies a Somerset team taking part, would like to think that Cornwall would also be present but it's a big trek and presumably a more central location would have been chosen.
Good to see Plymouth listed.
South West division

Yeah wasn't sure if Plymouth would be back but good they are. Means an 8-5 split down SW but I guess they want to give the divisions a more stable identity than chopping and changing which divisions the Somerset clubs are in each year to balance the numbers

The South West agreed to stage its first County Championship Festival to open the 2011 Summer season at its regional meeting in Yeovil.
Encouraged by the success of the Devon vs Cornwall match - which made national news on the BBC and across the Rugby League press - the South West will use the May Bank Holiday weekend to launch its summer programme with a county event.
Devon and Cornwall have already confirmed their involvement, and teams from Somerset & Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire are expected. The format will mirror that of the regional tournament, with teams playing a series of shortened games to determine the overall winners.
In addition, the programme will provide a selection event for the South West Regional team, that will go to the regional tournament on the second May Bank Holiday.
The venue is to be confirmed, but is likely to take place in Somerset.

Strange Dorset and Somerset run a combined team, whereas Cornwall which has no clubs runs its own team

I would assume that Joe(Catcheside, SW RFL Manager)has tried to keep travelling down, the spread of clubs reaches from Plymouth to Oxford, a semblence of continuity in the SW division - the fixtures are a repeat of last year with the cross group fixtures reversed - and group together the clubs in the eastern end of his region - Gloucester dropping from the Midlands Premier, Bristol 2nds, new club Wiltshire Wyverns with current Wiltshire club Swindon and Oxford, who have been in so many different divisions through the years they must be dizzy!
It was hoped that either another Devon club or a Cornish one would make up a 6 team "Devon" league and the three Somerset/Dorset teams move en bloc to join the Wiltshire clubs and a new Bath side (a project which hasn't progressed enough to join the RLC).
With the reorganisation of the Community game imminent this will probably be the last year of the Conference as we know it so who knows what will happen in 2012?
Regarding the County Championship at North Petherton, it is envisaged that it will resemble the RLC Regional Championships with a series of short 13 a side games played over a day with teams from any county in the region that can raise a side. Devon and Cornwall are already there after playing in Plymouth last September and hopefully Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire with two clubs each plus Student teams will be able to form a county team. The comp will also act as a trial for the South West Regional side for the competition at the end of May.
North Petherton in Somerset is fairly central when you consider the counties possibly entering (Wiltshire to Cornwall).
However, as with anything at this level, anything could happen between now and the day of the race....

That's the Cornish for you.
The Cornish team was a services team RNAS Culdroe IIRC. If anyone connected with Cornwall is reading this then HMS Raleigh in Torpoint might well have a few qualified players. The chap who runs the gym told me he organises Combines Service teams and does training work with the likes of Moz and Jamie Peacock.
I would get involved myself but I don't work there anymore.
