Kear made 5 Super League appearances in 2010 and has also represented his country on 6 occasions scoring 6 tries including a hat-trick against Scotland in October in the European Cup.
Director Of Rugby Darren Williams said " I am delighted to welcome Elliot to South Leeds and would like to thank Iestyn Harris, Barry Eaton & Rod Findlay for their co-operation in arranging this loan deal, obviously he has aspirations to play at the top level and at 22 years of age playing regularly in the tough environment of the Championship will aid his development. Williams added " To be able to entice a highly rated prospect to join us speaks volumes for the club and it also sends out the message that we wont stand for disappointing displays such as the recent defeat at Oldham, Elliot will train with the squad for the first time this evening and will make his debut in the Northern Rail Cup at South Leeds on Sunday against Batley Bulldogs. "
