Hunslet Hawks RLFC are delighted to announce the signing of Welsh International utility back Elliot Kear on loan from Crusaders for a minimum period of a month.

Kear made 5 Super League appearances in 2010 and has also represented his country on 6 occasions scoring 6 tries including a hat-trick against Scotland in October in the European Cup.

Director Of Rugby Darren Williams said " I am delighted to welcome Elliot to South Leeds and would like to thank Iestyn Harris, Barry Eaton & Rod Findlay for their co-operation in arranging this loan deal, obviously he has aspirations to play at the top level and at 22 years of age playing regularly in the tough environment of the Championship will aid his development. "

Williams added " To be able to entice a highly rated prospect to join us speaks volumes for the club and it also sends out the message that we wont stand for disappointing displays such as the recent defeat at Oldham, Elliot will train with the squad for the first time this evening and will make his debut in the Northern Rail Cup at South Leeds on Sunday against Batley Bulldogs. "

On signing Kear stated " I would like to thank Hunslet for this opportunity and hope my form helps the Hawks to some important victories and brings the best out of me so i can be a Super League regular with the Crusaders. "

Yeah I like that as well be a bit harsh on Clayton though he's looked pretty good last two games best back anyway

He's looked improved for certain, criticism of that though is what he's improved from. He didn't exactly have an inspiring season last year so its kind of a doing well by his low standards thing.
