All the game Swinton v Leigh (with a knowledgeable commentary) C/O a link "nicked" by me but found by the irrepressible PhillH....Nice One PhillH!
Oldham are going to have to be on top form at the Willows to get a result as you will see from the above!

Looking forward to this game. Swinton have been very impressive so far against both Halifax and Leigh and will provide a very good test to see how we are doing so far this year. From what I have seen of them so far(highlights of both games) Ian Watson looks to be their main man who everything goes through whilst Smith and Joseph dominate the middle of the pitch.
For us I can't see either Bentley or Heaton playing. Bentley took a really late and high shot from Barlow and looked in a lot of pain and he couldn't return to the pitch. Heaton as I commentated on in the Fax match thread was clearly injured in the warm up and due to a lack of back up was forced to play for 50 mins on one leg in a tremendously brave effort. I'd like to see him rest that groin injury as he will be key for our league campaign at full back. Hopefully Brocky , St Hilaire or even Robinson(and shift Gillam into the full back position like we did in the last 30 mins) in the reserves could come into the team.I'd like to see Wood-Hulme back in the team in place of Ellison who has really struggled so far. My team if Bentley and Heaton don't make it would be
Brocklehurst
Lucas
Wood
Bradbury
Gillam
Roden
Diveney
Boults
Clough
Wood-Hulme
Noone
Isherwood
Clarke
Gilchrist
Whitmore
Walker
Sutton

The commentator mentioned the fact that Watson was offside at every play the ball in the first half when Leigh went left near Swintons line, and he clearly was forcing Leigh to short pass down the middle (to good effect with their big forwards) he called it the "Umbrella" tactic stifling the centres, Watson was never penalised even though the tactic was spoiling the game as a spectacle.

It's Shaun Robinson who is from Saddleworth who plays for our reserves on the wing.

Have you actually watched the game? Swinton were awful in the first half and Leigh took full advantage, they scored 4 tries (3 scored by forwards)to our two, and we only scored our second right on the HT hooter. And the Leigh forward Chris Hill scored two tries (in the first half) so Watto was obviously doing an awful job in that sense. How this was spoiling the game as a spectacle I do not know. I thought that it was a really good game, maybe the teams weren't at their best but it was end to end and some top tries were scored by both teams.
Hopefully we will enjoy a good game against yourselves on Sunday.

Oldham (from): Bentley, Boults, Bradbury, Clarke, Clough, Diveney, Ellison, Gilchrist, Gillam, Heaton, Isherwood, Noone, Onyango, M Roden, N Roden, St Hilaire, Sutton, Whitmore, Wood, Wood-Hulme.
Hopefully Heaton is fit as St Hilaire can play in his proper position at centre and Ben Wood can move to his preferred position of second row.
