Although it was only a brief foray in a Knights shirt, the rumours look to be well founded as to his fitness etc he looked lean and fit Sunday just needs more match practice would expect him to play at Skolars and also Keighly game,
need every one match fit for you know when.

Belly could have been anything he wanted to be in our game. Sadly his appetite for the game has all too often been influenced by other directions. He has repeatedly proven that he cannot commit for any long periods of time and his head is often elsewhere. I have not seen or heard of anything to make me change my mind.
The lad has a history of missed opportunities behind him. I will be mightly surprised if he was to change.
Hope springs eternal eh..............

I'd be delighted if he did. A committed Ian Bell would be a revelation in this division and would put the fear of God into some of the other centres he'd come up against.

Without doubt Simon. A fitted and committed Ian Bell could potentially have been a GB player!!
Sadly, this looks as far from likely as big fat Ginger and 50 being the "new look" for 2011!!
He's never really shone anywhere he's been since moving from Hull as he's never stuck around long enough. Perhaps he might, just might, - realise that this is his last go at the pro game and give it his best. If he does, then York have the makings of the best centre in our league.
I just don't see it - (Doesn't mean I'm right - I've been wrong afoore like)!!!!

York City Knights and Dave Woods obviously would like Bell'y to show what he can really do on the rugby pitch but you'll alway's get some guy's targeting him, hope he can rise above whats gone on in his past, I'm sure all Knights supporters wish him well and he as a good season with the Knights.

I agree, it is in Belly's hands now, im sure DW's influence will be good for him and he wont have had as much support anywhere else as he does at our club. So come on Ian, last chance show em what your made of!!!

I hope so as he is a great hard hitting player. I liked him as a player and I thought our team was weaker without him, however as you say his future is in his hands. I just hope he doesn't drag other players down with him if he goes off the rails again.

he had no problems on the pitch infact he applied himself very well during games whilst at barrow.its when he was off the pitch the problems started as a few pub and club landlords found out but like i already said certainly couldnt knock his efforts on the pitch.i hope he knuckles down and keeps his focus on playing rugby long term but like they say a leopard never changes its spots lets hope this one can

He does have the on field perutation, he was and still is banned for life in the amateur game, he certainly wasn't sin binned for being targetted by his former club, unless holding a rugby ball and running is targetting him

I think Morrison was trying his best to wind Belly up to be fair.

Judging by your other 2 positive, helpful and encouraging posts on this thread,am I now to understand that Featherstone followers really can do irony ?

It'll be nice for Ian Bell to take things one day at a time and not aim to reach his peak for either the 5th June or the 5th August but when York meet Featherstone in the play-offs.(Should both clubs get there)

Less headlines (for the wrong reasons)in The Press and reminders of the dim and distant pass would also be appreciated.
