I reckon the first 17 through the turnstile could put up a good show
but seriously, i'm hoping the season gets underway this weekend although a big victory will count for nothing if we don't do the business at fax next week?

I really can't see anything other than a convincing win on Sunday. Gateshead do not look like a team of world-beaters judging by the post-mortem after that defeat at Workington, and I have a hunch that our boys will be looking to put the record straight after two pretty dismal performances so far. The bookies should be giving Thunder at least 30 points on Sunday I would have thought.
Halifax will then become very interesting! I certainly wouldn't write us off in terms of winning there IF we can rediscover the pre-season form.
I really hope we start with the Moore, Mennell, Handforth triangle on Sunday. We look much more dangerous with all three on and a fresh Lythesy midway through the game gives us good options to mix things up a bit.

Looks good to me, but would prefer to have Handforth @9 & Mennell @6.

i understand you on that SJS, but i think Handforth directs play better from SO (than DH) and feel that Mennell would be quicker out of DH position and cause more of a threat
