Walney 'A' 40 v Roose Pioneers 'A' 14 (10-14) - B&D and Knockout cup double header
14 man Pioneers raced into a 12-0 lead early in the game and held a 14-10 half time lead but Walney started to pull away after 50 mins and scored tries at regular intervals after that.

Yeah game played at Central Drive, pitch was pretty heavy going in parts.
We heard about Askam's pitch being waterlogged, that's the first time I can recall Askam calling a game off for a waterlogged pitch in the 20 seasons I have been playing open age rugby.

Was a really tough game! Both teams went forward with the ball well under the tough conditions but fitness (or lack of) on our part (Roose) allowed the cents to get a good hold of the game and put it out of our reach...
Might have been a different story though if the knock on over the line wasn't!! but taking nothing away from walney.. was a really good game...
