realistically what do you guys think our chances are of getting anything from the game on sunday?a defeat without a bonus will probably eliminate us from the competition, and to be totally honest i think we might be outclassed by a top side.we need to get back to our own game and keep the ball alive at every opportunity.i would also be tempted if i were the coaches to revert back to the team that destroyed gateshead.we are only 1 game away from the challenge cup and we need to be playing the best 17.i really hope we can nick a bonus point, and it would be the result of the season if we could get a win but im going for town 16 leigh 48

Hi guys and gals, its a long time since I visited Worky and to be honest I'd rather forget the last time

Is there a pub near the ground that away supporters congregate in or is their a clubhouse in the ground that away supporters can use. One of the reasons I ask is I run our supporters club forecast comp so I am trying to maximise our entries this week. Despite the small defeat that happened last time I visited I am looking forward to visiting on Sunday.

Sorry folks, no forecast comp this year

As its in the daft choo-choo cup I hope we treat it like a pre-season friendly, I dont even want us to go through to the next round as it disrupts the league season later on and thats whats most important for us. As for the game, we will always have a chance at home in a game like this, though I expect Leighs class to come through towards the end and see us lose by about 20.

I quite like the way you changed your name to the Centurions to celebrate how close we got to that score that time

For pubs, theres a couple nearby, namely the Waverly or theres a Weatherspoons about 10 minutes away. There is a clubhouse if your wanting a few beers before kick off but Im not sure what time it opens to be honest. Hope you enjoy the day, but not too much obviously.

if we progress not only will it show how much we have progressed but we will surely get a financial reward and possibly a home tie in the next round which will also bring in much needed revenue.which if its a big league game or a pointless cup match, surely is a must for a club with poor attendances.

I believe the Railway Club or the Working Mens Club on Station Road are popular b4 the match. Both are very close to the ground

Fair point, financially its an extra game or 2 so always good for the club. I just dont think it helps a team with promotion ambitions.

Dont get me wrong, I would love to see us in the final. I just dont think we have much chance at all. I would definitely prefer us to get promotion.

All I hope for is that we see a good solid performance from the team and if we can get a bonus point then that would be great. Leigh are one of the top teams outside of SL so it will be a big ask of the lads to beat them but you never know!!!

However, even with a bonus point I don't think that would be good enough to qualify. Leigh have 9 points and play us; Halifax have 6 points and have to play Batley (H) and Haven (A), so I think those two are cast iron certs for the last 8. If we managed a bonus point we would have 7 points but Sheffield play Hunslet and both of them have 5 points so the winner of that match will go above us.

The biggest danger of pipping our 7 points would come from Swinton (how ironic after last season) as they are away to Gateshead and if they win by a difference of roughly 43 points then they will beat us on points difference just as we did for last years play-offs. Oldham can get 7 points by beating Haven but their points difference is a lot worse than ours and Batley can get 7 points with a bonus against Fax but again their points difference is worse than ours.

The last 8 play-offs this season are on the 9 / 10 April and no other league matches have been scheduled for that weekend so it does fill in a blank weekend.

Let's be positive and say Town 16 - Leigh 28
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

You might so I wouldnt risk it. Theres a big layby in front of Tesco`s that you will pass before the roundabout into Tesco`s so just stay in that.
