As many of you may know already, I'm sad to report that Laurie Grailey, lifelong supprter and Club Historian suffered another major stroke earlier this week and as we stand is criticaly ill in hospital.

Laurie is a rugby league stalwart and has missed something like 3 Batley games in 35 years, I'm sure you'll all join me in sending our best wishes to Laurie, Andrew and the family. Sad times.

terrible news, my heart sank as i opened the thread.

R.I.P Laurie, the Halifax victory seems less important now but Laurie would of smiled at the Win.

Thankyou for all your time at the Mount.

RIP Loz - you were a loyal, dedicated, and wholehearted supporter of Batley Bulldogs, and excellent historian and statistician to the Club.

IMHO, there should be some lasting memento to Loz at the Mount - he gave so much of his life to the Club.

Condolences to Andrew, & lets dedicate our successes this season to his memory.

Any news on the funeral date at St Mary's?

Had a lot of good times with Loz over the years many overnight away trips
and some really funny times will be sadly missed at the mount and by
everyone who crossed paths with him,Lets go on and win the rail cup again
and dedicate it to Laurie a really nice guy.

No news yet on arrangements, we'll let you know as soon as.

Andrew has asked that I thank everyone for their kind comments on here, it's touching to see the great comments about a great man who'll be sadly missed by many, and I know it'll be of great comfort to Laurie's family to see how much people think of him.
