York City Knights head coach Dave Woods has put new loan signing Jordan Thompson straight into the team for Sundays final Northern Rail Cup match against the Keighley Cougars. Thompson signed on a months loan this week from Castleford Tigers and will join fellow Tigers Nathan Massey and John Davies in the starting lineup, who have both been in great form so far this season. After last weeks disappointing performance against the London Skolars, and Keighleys defeat against Toulouse, neither side can qualify for the knockout stages, but both teams will be looking to get their combinations right for next weeks Challenge Cup match and the start of the league campaign the following week. Woods has also handed a recall to Dennis Tuffour and Matt Garside and welcomes back Club Captain Alex Benson from suspension and Duane Straugheir, Jonny Presley and Rhys Clarke from injury. Sam Lynch may also be given his Knights debut and is competing with Tom Bush at fullback. Keighley player coach Jason Demetriou is likely to start and Knights fans will have to opportunity to see what might have been if circumstances had been different.
Turnstiles open as normal at 1:30pm an ticket holders can access Bar 13 from 12:30pm via the information point in main reception. The third edition of York & Proud will also be on sale and this week contains an interview with former Cougar Jonny Presley. The magazine is priced at £2.50 and can be purchased outside the ground before you enter the stadium or in the club shop which will be back open this weekend. The club also now has a number of Large, XL, XXL and 3XL replica shirts in stock which will be available on Sunday.
