Richard Mervill a prop formerly with Oldham and Tony Stewart who played for us last season. Hopefully Stewart will be a fringe player, both players will probably be in the squad for Gateshead.

Don't know anything about Richard Mervill, but Tony Stewart did nothing for me last year. For me his defence was very weak and he seemed to have no pace at all, a backward step for me.

Honestly don't see how either player offers anything better than other squad members that are already not getting a game.
Doesn't seem logical to have Tommy Gallagher, Chris Tyrer and Bruce Johnson all sat in the stand last week but bring in Richard Mervill. Particularly with Dana Wilson expected to come back from injury soon.
As for Tony Stewart, the squad would benefit from recruitment of another centre in my view but I don't think he's the answer. Would have been better to find a young up and coming player with hopefully a view towards the Championship next season. A stop gap at best.

Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.
