Fans of the Roughyeds - where are you all?

I for one am looking forward to another encounter with our friends from Cumbria as this will be an entirely different game than the Seat Cup match. According to the local press report in Whitehaven there is a strong belief that they will win this one and set themselves up well for the season ahead. Should be interesting and a good game.

COME ON YOU ROUGHYEDS

Should be a good game. We've got a fair few players back for tomorrow especially Heaton who we missed tremendously last week.I fancy Ashe will start tomorrow with Ratty and next week Roden will get a rest and Diveney and Ashe will combine at half back. Hopefully Wood will be at second row and Brocky will be available to play in the centres as he has had two really good games when he has played this year. Elly should come onto the bench and I think Isherwood will miss out,

It's an important game because we have lost two in a row and losing three before the start of the season wouldn't be a good sign.

Lucas
Brocky
Bradbury
Gillam
Roden
Ashe
Boults
Clough
Sutton
Noone
Wood

Well that was pretty horrendous, lack of flair and too many errors. Credit to Whitehaven though their kicking was good and they defended well.

The officials also had abit of a shocker and the amount of times he didnt call offside was a joke.

Worst game I have seen for a very long time. Haven defended well and deserve credit but outside of Noone and Brocky we were absolutely shambolic. Our form is definitely a worry now and we need to put in a good performance next week to prepare for the league campaign.

That was a hideous, abysmal and quite frankly atrocious game between two absolutely clueless teams.
Sheer awfulness from beginning to end, the final whistle being a blessed relief. To think I could have stayed at home and watched what sounded like a cracker of a cricket match too!

The one and only positive to come out of that game was that Ashe was shocking....

It's a positive because, at least now TB knows who is starting scrum half should be. I'm sorry to single the lad out, but he was slow, clueless and devoid of any confidence. Despite being poor, we should have won that game easily, purely on the amount of possession and territory we had in the second half. We had absolutley no craft or guile on attack. I'm not sure young Diveney would have had all the answers, but to not get over the line in that second half was a real worry.

Hear, Hear. £12 quid to watch that rubbish. The crowd of 544 will be down to 300 if they carry on playing like that.

Let's hope it's a blip. Pretty poor all round. No idea going forward, no support around the ruck, flat footed in defence, forwards looked ponderous. One to forget lads, let's see who has the metal to stand up and be counted next week.

Heads up guys, early days yet & a long way to go. Wasn't at the game but I'm sure TB won't have any worries on getting the boys minds back on the job this week at training.

Let's hope not Rob - his tackling technique hasn't improved since he was here last (and it was bad then!).

Agree about the handling errors - bad day at the office but let's not dwell on it. These are only pre-season friendlies in truth anyway.

Yesterday was what can only be described as a terrible day at the office. We had no clue on attack and, although our defence wasn't great, we did defend well at times and in numbers. Once it was apparent that Ashy wasn't having a great game I would have switched him around with Clough as I believe he could do more than a good job at Half Back. And, let's face it, we still have a problem there. On the poitives Brocky had a very good game as did Noone in the second half. Ratty had a quiet one for his standard but I feel that was down to Haven realising that Ashy was having a stinker and so concentrated their efforts on making sure Rats didn't have the room to create.

Thought the pack stood up well to some big forwards and that was without Elly. But, why oh why doesn't Wood-Hulme get more time on the park? He can't be unfit as he did a terrific job of taking out their winger in the first half so why not give him more time on the pitch? He is one hell of a find and he looks like he'll make his mark this season and he's still learning, AND growing!

TB needs to settle the troops and their nerves down over the next few days and get them ready for the season which is our prime concern and I am confident he will.

Very poor performance indeed, what i fail to understand is our failure to make use of the slope, in the first half i dont recall oldham kicking to that corner once! yet straight away in 2nd half Haven get a 40/20 and put pressure on our line and score! this seems like simple effective tactics too me,Oldham train and play at whitebank on a regular basis so you would think they would have the awareness in making full use of the pitch they know so well, away teams seem able to do it.
ive always been a fan of TB but sundays tatics or lack of them was rather worrying!

At least Benson was big enough to apologise for the garbage served up last weekend! Dread to think what the crowd might be this weekend - I think we may be lucky to get more than 500!

He has signed for one of the teams from Sunday's game. Unfortunately not us, signed for Haven. Rob, were you listening in on some Haven supporters conversations again.
