I enjoyed today's game. We looked quite solid for the most part.

thought we played some good stuff today, the forwards won us the game, they got through a lot ov graft,i was sat at the back ov the stand sat next to garry schofield n is right hand man,he was pulling his hair out mainly at the refs decisions,he was bad for both teams, some very odd decisions, but you cant take it away from the rams we were the better team, lets hope we get a home draw, well done the rams

Garry Schofield always moans about refs.

Barrow laid on at the tackle a lot and got away with it. Likewise moving up a fraction before we played the ball, but in the end Dewsbury earned their win with great defence.

Schofield can moan all he likes, they lost to a team with a faction of their playing budget.

I thougth Luke Balke was exceptional today, Lockwood and England very good but all round a great team performance.

I have to say I thought Halloran was abysmal. But I don't know why Schofield was complaining. We take a quick tap on 25, Halloran not ready, Buchanan away under the sticks and he pulls us back. Barrow do the same, play on. Tansey throws the ball away, 10 minutes in sin bin, Rooney kicks the ball away and stays on. But our defence today was superb, we wanted to hit hard and we did. Brambani was outstanding.

The ref looked unfit and couldn't keep up with play. One or two dubious calls too. When is the draw for the next round?

excellent result and one which seemed rare, coupled with our defeat of posing, arrogant fax!

isn't it sweet when the underdogs take a rich scalp!

now lets hope the rams and dogs stay clear of each other in the northern rail and challenge cup!

Karl cheers now move on the KEAR IS HERE!

I thought the display was an excellent example of a team playing for each other and following their coaching instructions pretty well to the letter. It was clear that Warren had worked on a basic attritional plan to frustrate Barrow and wear them down and it worked pretty well; the enthusiasm in the team was top notch once again. Brambani had another good game but I do wonder what a prop has to do to earn the MoM award - both England and Hirst were excellent today both in defence and attack and together with the rest of the pack laid the basis for the victory.

It would be hard to defend the ref's display today except to say that it seemed to be an improvement on his last one, so hopefully he will continue to get better (no refs, no game remember). He didn't favour either side, and no-one is suggesting that, and I believe that his mistakes evened out over the game.

Barrow got a real roll on in the last 20 minutes and we did well to hold them out. It was interesting to see what the basis of this was, which was clever dummy half play: Gleeson took the ball forward for 2 or 3 yards at every play the ball before passing, which was putting our defence on the back foot every time. Our dummy half still seems to operate from a static point, which was allowing them to move up quickly (incidentally creating the impression that they were offside more often than they were) and snuff out most of our play. Hence their half backs often had more time and space in which to operate, unsuccessfully most of the time.

I felt the Barrow fans took the result in good heart, as is to be expected from that part of the country, although there is general disatisfaction with Rooney's contribution - expect another move before long.
Believe what you see, don't see what you believe.

Brilliant result, the forwards were awesome, and Dom gets better and better,(I expect Fev to be tapping him up by the end of July).
Would have liked Tansey to have attacked the opposition more, rather than just move the ball on, but it is early days yet, and I suppose that will come with fitness and confidence.Menzies looks as though he will do some damage this year, and all in all things look promising. Was Faahl injured, dropped, or just unavailable ?

I thought England was superb but Dom kicked 5 goals out of 5, good positional kicking and set up the try that England scored so I suppose Dom just edged it. I thought at one point when England took the ball he was just going to keep on running over the try line and down the hill at the back of the posts, he was going like a train if you pardon the pun.

I would suggest storming across the M62,M61,M6 then sulking all the way down the A590 & A595 so Schofield & Rooney could get their cars for the long drive home

The most pleasing thing about Sundays game was the way in which we kept at it right until the final hooter. Last season especially in the early part we proved we could compete but only for 70 minutes or so in most cases, and the way in which we lost in France looked like this was to start again. Hopefully this is now fixed? Well done!
To all those from Barrow thanks for helping to fill the stands and I look forward to our league fixtures where I'm sure the games will be equally as close.

Really happy with the way we played on Sunday, you would expect Barrow to be in the top five this season,we more then matched them in every department. When the weather dry's up and the pitch harders up,i think we could get even better and give a game against anyone in this league.Just hope we can keep hold of Craven and Tonks, who i think are going to light up this season's competition.
