My big concern at the Moment is that we ain't playing with a proper loose forward.
No disrespect to Benno as I really rate him and think he's a fantastic pro and will be a good club captain but....I'm really worried that we don't have a ball handling player at the back of the Scrum that can create something out of nothing and open up play or get away that vital off load.
We seem too be lacking a bit of flair and one reason maybe that we are a Half back short as that is what the loose forward seems to be in the modern game.
We never really had one last year in all honesty, Marchy was the last one, he had that x factor and could produce that miracle ball and get a second phase attack going but that's been lacking so far this year.
Don't know what everyone else thinks?? It's just my opinion, but would be interested to see if anyone else feels the same way, or, If you totally dis-agree??. Maybe someone like Thompson there could be the answer, big lad with a bit of pace bags of strength, and maybe an offload or two in the locker.
Woody knows the game far better then I'll ever know, best coach we've had for many many a year so,... more likely I'm just out of touch and talking rubbish.

Only a thought!!

I agree Andy, 13 is a really important position in the game as they have to be probably the most 'complete' player. I think DW would of liked to have signed a player to play that postion and probably that was the desired position for Jason Demetriou and before that Luke Branighan however neither signing came off and these players are hard to come by. I wouldnt be suprised if he does sign someone to play there when one comes availible, until then i reckon Benson will be played there and if unsuccessful maybe Ryan Esders or Waterman.

It is a good signing, but as has been pointed out the guy is a serial offender off the field, hence his poor track record with clubs for a young player of his potential and ability

Belly at No.13 anyone ?

Yeah, I'd give him a go Andy or Wats. Think they need a few games, no point playing them one game then if it don't work change it.

I would agree in putting Jack Lee to loose he's got the hands and the football brain to get things going forward and while we have him Jordan Thompson to fullback he has the pace and the build to make a great impact then you've got the choice at centres to go at.

I THINK STRAUGHEIR SHOULD BE TRIED AT LOOSE FORWARD HE AS THE STRENGTH THE SPEED AND LOOKS TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO
USE THE BALL. PUT BELLY BACK IN THE CENTRE AND CT AT FULL BACK WHERE HE CAN SEE WHATS GOING ON ALL AROUND. PLAY
STAMP AT STAND OFF. WOULDNT BE SUPRISED IF DW HASNT ALREADY THOUGHT OF TRYING THIS??? MAYBE WORTH A TRY.

not a bad idea at all, as I said think CT would be very useful at full back, bit more room to run and view of the play not as cramped or as hassled as he will be at No.6.

Belly and Wats at centres makes sense or leave Struf at centre and stick Belly in the 13 slot, would certianly get more ball than he did on Sunday, Ezo in the 2nd row.

I would leave jack at No.9 as his running from dummy half causes chaos to some teams.

Only 1 man makes the decision in the end but interesting to see the various combos people are coming up with.
