See Kyle Eastmonds signed for Bath, another fine young player slips through the net. You gotta feel sorry for League clubs when the English RU sides are cherry picking the best young talent from our game after all the money spent bringing players like Eastmond through the ranks only for them to jump at the RFU money.
No doubt Eastmond will be wearing the England shirt this time next year in the six nations along with Chris Ashton, RU will take all the credit when they shine, he will be claimed as one there own and League will get no recognition at all.
If only League had a International set up like Union, then that might stop the current player drain going over to the Rah Rahs.
Think he'll be a massive hit in the other code, a sad loss again for League.

It's not just the international set up it's the fact that there's more money in Union than in League.

Someone told me it was £240 for a ticket for the France match at the weekend. The RFU must have massive funds and it's a worry that they are going to flex their muscle and splash cash to tempt and raid League for it's best young talent.

It's exactly the same as what League did in the before 1996, to be fair.

No doubt Eastmond will be wearing the England shirt this time next year in the six nations along with Chris Ashton, RU will take all the credit when they shine, he will be claimed as one there own and League will get no recognition at all.

Disagree. I've not seen a single article about Chris Ashton where his league background hasn't been mentioned (or everytime he scores a try for that matter).

If only League had a International set up like Union, then that might stop the current player drain going over to the Rah Rahs.

I agree, International RL is an absolute joke. Danny Brough's selection is incredulous, and they STILL can't confirm details for a match which takes place in just three months time. Unbelievable.

Think he'll be a massive hit in the other code, a sad loss again for League.

Time will tell. He could make a great full back/winger in the shape of Foden (or Jason Robinson before that). He could fall flat on his face (or smashed on his back) at Fly-Half though.

There's nowt wrong with a young lad trying to better himself financially, so good luck to him. Once he's gone to the dark side though I'll take no interest in his career whatsoever as I couldn't care less about what goes on in that game.

Think he's a young Jason Robinson in the making, sad to see him switch codes but as Simon says money talks at that age, I will monitor how he goes as I get some satisfaction from seeing the likes of Ashton, Hape and other converts in the coaching side making their way, hurts the green welly brigade at work to known they rely on RL to bring the flair into their beloved game
