England Head Coach Steve McNamara will join players, coaches and club officials from the Midlands clubs on Monday 21st March 2011 to launch the season's playing structure.

The launch, part of a seminar organised by the RFL's regional staff entitled "Player Development Over Winning", takes place at Nottingham Trent University between 7pm and 9pm.

In order to raise participation levels, increase player skills and to encourage a longer term approach to coaching players, a number of changes will be introduced to the Youth and Junior Playing Structure.

"This will be an essential information night for everyone involved in Youth and Junior Rugby League in the Midlands" explains Martyn Rothwell, the region's Talent & Coaching Manager. "We will be disseminating a lot of information as well as some new ideologies on how we go about coaching and playing Rugby League. The seminar will be essential in finding out the facts of what we are aiming to achieve as well as a vital learning opportunity for coaches in the region to learn from the England Head Coach."

As well as discussing the new playing structures, the seminar will also be an opportunity to discuss and explore the concept of player development over winning.

"We are aware that this is a radical change of concepts for a number of people" continues Rothwell. "By bringing all our stakeholders together to give them a clear message to as many people as possible. We are also very grateful to Steve McNamara for his support of the project and for giving up his time to come and help us with the launch."

Places at the seminar are limited to 100 and attendees are asked to contact Martyn Rothwell via email martyn.rothwell@rfl.uk.com or by telephone 07795 840 088.

The seminar takes place in the George Eliot Building, Room 034 at Nottingham Trent University, Clifton Campus, Clifton, Nottingham, NG11 8NS. A campus map can be downloaded from: http://www.ntu.ac.uk..._files/4233.pdf
