Well what can you say....to throw a 20-4 half time lead away and be nilled in the 2nd half really not good enough...full stop.

I thought todays game would be a benchmark for how much we have improved since last season,on the evidence of that second half performance we have a lot of improving to do. Most of us long suffering fans would still not have been confident at half time that Town would go on and win the game, even though we were completely in command. We've all got long memories of second half collapses.
A win today would have give us confidence going into next weeks game against title favourites Swinton, I fear now that their chins will need lifted off the floor after that.

Oh well, just another day of frustration being a Town fan......Ladee da...

Well we certainly snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory today. 20 - 4 up at half-time and not unduly pressed by the opposition but it was like we played with two different teams today as the second half team looked nothing like the one in the first half.

Right from the start of the second half our tackling became very weak and we gave Hornets all the impetus they needed to get on top. On our second half showing we have a long way to go to be a force in this league again. Sad but true, I'm afraid.

Just got bk well as Keith says game of two halves, first we were very good in both attack and defense held them out on our line and then when we got down the other end finished moves and sets of with tries, turning point although didnt seem one at the time was Miller's try or should I say no try just before the break the linesman standing right beside him said he was onside from the kick as did the ref but touchjudge on opposite side of the field said he wasent and try was chalked off so that would have been 26-4 at the break. Second half we were awful no organisation at all letting them score 6pts was bad enough but then to put the kickoff out on the full and have them score another try was a disaster, then at the end trying to get bk into game carter going into touch on zero tackle and then a kick through from pedley on 2nd tackle when nobody at all knew it was coming.

in all a poor performance and going to swinton nxt sunday could be a mess

As I saw it TTID the referee shouted to 2 or 3 Town players they were offside and they held back. The Rochdale winger then tried to catch the ball and fumbled it behind him. Miller ran in collected the loose ball and went in under the sticks. I'm sure the ref had every bit as good a view as the TJ furthest from the action but he accepted his word and disallowed the try.

In the second half there was also another try "disallowed". At 20 - 16 up a Town player was tackled by 3 Hornets on their line and as they hit the ground the ball came out backwards and McGoff picked up the ball and dived over. The referee then awarded us a penalty a yard out for them stripping the ball. What ever happened to the advantage rule?

Having said that for our second half display we deserved what we got I'm afraid. Swinton's Steve McCormack was there today and he will have seen our weaknesses today. Incidentally, if we had taken the penalty on the line and it had ended 22 all would there have been extra time?

The first score of the second half was always going to be crucial, and if you'd got it, I reckon you'd have won with a bit to spare.

But the early touchdown 'Ornits got, was just what they needed, and with that they kicked on to win the game.

Overall, I thought you were worth a draw, but of course if it had finished level at 80 minutes, it'd have gone to the golden point anyway.

See you next week!

Spelly.
"--- and then on the eighth day, God created Rugby League."

Daily, my intense dislike of the Pinks, Rugby Yawnion, Manchester United, and far-right politics, grows ever larger, and will continue to do so forever more!

Question! What's the connection between Rugby League and Rugby Yawnion? Answer! There isn't one!

My girl-friend said to me "If you had to choose between me and Swinton who would it be?" I replied "You know the answer to that one without even asking!"
