All credit to Hunslet Warriors...It's a shame 90% of their fans were scum.

Can't remember the last time I saw the cops at an Oldham game.

They were a disgrace. Towards the end their players couldn't concentrate on the game, because they were too involved in trying to calm their idiot fans down. The players had the sense to realise that that kind of behaviour could jeopardise the clubs chances of competeing in the cup in future seasons.

That moron who got carted off actually had the nerve to try and claim the stewards assaulted him...!

I'd be happy to see Hunslet Warriors players again, they were a credit. Just don't bring rent a moron next time, although....bar profits must've been up

Have to agree the players give an excellent show of themselves, but their fans were an utter disgrace.
I felt sorry for the stewards when they drew level at 16-16 their fans threw bottles, beer & plastic cups
at them and verbally abused them all through the game.I dont think they intentionally kicked the hoardings
off but when the stewards asked them to stop kicking them they did it even more.I have never witnessed
anything like that at an oldham game before, I took my daughter and she was scared something was going to
happen and i had to reassure her it an isolated incident.i dont think they would have been happy if we
had behaved like that at their ground.Once again huge credit to their players

Almost glad my car cost me 185 quid this week! Desperate to see the lads play in the next round tho!
Ain't it funny how you think you're gonna be OK
Till you remember things are never gonna be the same again?
Ain't it crazy how you think you've got your whole life planned
Just to find that it was never ever in your hands?

Warriors looked good and in the left centre(Cunningham?) had the games best player by a country mile. They looked very comfortable in possession and you can see why they have done well so far this season.I'll let others comment on their fans but I've never seen so many police at a rugby game.

As for ourselves that is four shocking performances in a row and we need a kick up the backside in all areas. Next week is going to be very tough against Gateshead if we continue like we are. Brocklehurst, Fogarty and Clough were the only ones who did themselves any justice. Ben Wood had an absolute shocker and must have put the ball down 6 times and missed 4 or 5 tackles and the rest weren't much better.

i must say sorry the supporters at the end of the game, i bet we dont see them at heworth on saturday our next league game.

I thought we played brilliant today, when you scored in the first few minutes but a credit to us we plowed away with some great tries and how we didnt get the champane moment i dont and how roden got the man of match god knows.

anyway hope you have a good season and will be looking forward to seeing you at hunslet hawks but please dont think all warriors fans are idiots as most are rugby league poeple.

weird atmosphere today, made me laugh was one lad being asked why he hadn't been kicked out by his lady friend and he told her if they tried to kicked him out dead bodies would be laying about the ground but in the club house he was everyones best mate.

Need to buck up for the coming season although all credit to the warriors their game plan was effective and it worked well and one of their lads was absolutely rapid !

unfortunately this appears to be creeping in to these challenge cup early rounds every year. Another thing reading on various boards is the 'thuggish' tactics of these sides, as they resort to high tackles just to look the big boy in their club bar's after the game.
Fryston were a set of thugs on the pitch at batley today because they had nothing to lose by taking someones head off and getting sent off or sin bined and to be fair the Batley players didnt react just laughed at them and then took them apart with rugby.
The referee didnt help either because he did not take any action whatsoever all throughout the game.
I think apart from being rowdy, enthusiastic and noisy the Fryston fans seemed to be ok and i dont think there was any real problems.
The team were actually a decent side when they played rugby but they only wanted to play rugby until they were well behind.

just wanted to change the above slightly as i was in a different area of the ground but apparently according to other batley fans they have added the following comments from batley fans in the same area as the fryston supporters:

"Shame the majority of the fans Fryston brought with them were absolute filth. I thought open racial abuse had been eradicated at sporting grounds in this country, obviously not. The stewards should have been given super soakers filled with acid"

"Got To Agree The Fryston 'Fans' In The Short Stand Were A Disgrace To Rugby League & Humanity Has A Whole.

Racial Insults, Sexual Discrimination & Throwing Objects At Match Official and On To The Field Of Play.
Didn't Anyone Tell Them That It Was A Game Of Rugby League And Not Football ??

I Really Thought Rugby League Was A FAMILY Game.

Obviously, I can't comment on the Batley game but, I know what I saw at Oldham today.
I can honestly say that I have never experienced that at a rugby league game before.

Given what went on, and what would appear to have gone on at Batley, and what went on with the Queens fans at Doncaster last year(or the whenever it was) I think it's about time the RL clamped down on these clubs. I really hope something goes in the match officials report. I will certainly be sending an e mail to the RFL.

this is a family game.

Which of the Warriors team are you saying resorted to high tackles and thuggish behaviour - because your captain and man of the match obviously had no problem with them any of them as his speach after the game showed. To a man they were a credit to their team and to rugby league.

i think you will find that bulldoggystyle is talking about the fryston players not the warriors who were a credit to your club
and played a great game, just a shame about the supporters.all the best for the future

i agree it was a good game well fought. marred only by the behaviour of the contingent hell bent on causing trouble. There was even an assault on a steward from a warriors fan today, and i know in addition to the poster up there^^ whose daughter was worried and/or distressed by todays events, so were my children too, which i think everyone will agree is a very sad thing indeed when you have taken them to a family day out :(

As a swinton fan the same happened to us in 2004, we drew east hull at home. And they won. The fans turned over the clubhouse, stand and pub down the road, abusive to everyone at the ground and as mentioned in earlier posts, a disgrace to rugby league and humanity. This year we drew them again at home. We boosted the number of stewards, made it a Saturday game, with a 1.45 kick off, no beer sold, and advanced tickets only. They showed up with a limited number of (true) fans and I had a little laugh every time our considerably larger players smashed theirs, we scored tries at ease, and they genuinely struggled to get into our half. They even got very lucky on a number of occasions and still failed to score more than one try. 44 - 4 and I left very happy.

Sweet revenge

Moral to the story, against amateur sides, (semi) professional clubs should follow the policies we did on saturday, no alcohol, advanced tickets only and boosted security. Its sad but true that the amateur sides seem to bring their d**k head mates to the games with them, who only go to cause a ruckus. However I was very happy with the way swinton performed on and off the pitch and think we have set an example to follow for future cup ties.
Im only smiling because `no-one`'s found the bodies yet.

Sadly, I think you`re right i.e. early kick off, advanced ticket sales etc., Then hopefully the low life who turn up for all the wrong reasons will not overshadow what should be a memorable day for the hard working amateur teams involved. . People will then go away discussing what happened ON the pitch and credit will be given where it`s due to the PLAYERS and staff who have given their all. And supporters who turn up every week to support their club will not be tarred with the same brush as these idiots who come out of the woodwork for these high profile games.

[b]what was blinkin disgraceful was Hunslets assistant coach having to be told about foul and abusive language and restrained from kicking the hoardings by the match commissioner!!!

Hunslet Warriors have two Assistant coaches, one Paul Sebine was playing and the other Gareth Baker was in the dugout standing in for coach Paul Jackson who was on duty for Castleford Tigers so I can assure you that no member of Warriors coaching staff was spoken to by the match commissioner.

The fans were a bit rowdy but not half as bad as what some people are making out they were chanting and banging on the hoardings not intentionally kicking them trying to break them, as as far as the damage done by the Warriors fans there were one tie wrap snapped.

I can only apologise for the abusive language as i was playing and heard the language which was out of order, but every club has these kind of people following them.

I also dont think its right for Oldham fans to be going on different teams forums slagging the Warriors off trying to cause trouble for us.

We didnt start tying to cause trouble when 17 rugby players had to get washed in a sink and use water bottles to wash oursen down with.

Oldham were very very lucky to make it through to the next round as i thought we were badly done by the ref, as them two forward passes were not forward and he was giving penalties to oldham for nothing, as he felt there was an upset on the cards.

But thats the way the cookie crumbles, all credit to the Oldham coach and players they were very complimentery!!

All the best to Oldham in the next round
