Manning pushed Moore all the way for M.O.M today for me. Looks a cracking signing...power, pace, good hands, great tackler and never stops.

Agreed - thought Bretherton stood out today as well - him & Manning got through a LOT of work!

Shame the majority of the fans Fryston brought with them were absolute filth. I thought open racial abuse had been eradicated at sporting grounds in this country, obviously not. The stewards should have been given super soakers filled with acid.
What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

Got To Agree The Fryston 'Fans' In The Short Stand Were A Disgrace To Rugby League & Humanity Has A Whole.

Racial Insults, Sexual Discrimination & Throwing Objects At Match Official and On To The Field Of Play.
Didn't Anyone Tell Them That It Was A Game Of Rugby League And Not Football ??

I Really Thought Rugby League Was A FAMILY Game.

We at Oldham experienced a similar thing today, with the fans of Hunslet Warriors. They caused damage to the advertising hoardings and spat at our stewards, whilst throwing beer and insults. One fan was arrested and I counted a total of eight police vehicles outside the ground at the end.

It would appear these early rounds of the challenge cup are becoming a haven for thugs trying to attach themselves to our game, as with Queens at Doncaster not long ago.

Maybe it's time the RL had a re think.

I cannot fault the Warriors players, they were excellent, and even tried to calm their travelling idiots down.

Yeah and if Walton gets to the level he was last season, we've got a fantastic back row with Bretherton and Manning. Not to mention the likes of Toohey, Lindsey and Buttery. Got to say i've been quite impressed with Darran Williams from what i've seen so far too. Just not sure we need another winger when we've already got Campbell, Brown and Reittie, as well as Preece who can play there if Rhino decides to play Hodgson at full back when he arrives from Huddersfield.

Totally agreed on the Fryston crowd (not all, but the ones who we all saw) unfortunately....a horrible breed of cheap Lager swilling, obnoxious, racist, loud mouthed oxygen thieves. A fine example of why Euthanasia perhaps should be legalised in this country. Shame really, when their team put up quite a good show.

Thought the players need to be praised for not retaliating to the thuggish behaviour of their players once they were getting beaten.
Every tackle there was head shots, punches, gouging etc going in and the referee never had the bottle to do anything about it. You knew in the second half thats what they would resort to to make a name for themselves back in their club house after the game....set of inbreed scumbags

Agreed. The sad thing was Fryston could actually play a bit if they'd concentrated on Rugby rather than rough house, dirty tactics. Their first try was a cracker.

Fair play to Batley for not retaliating like you have said though. Standing on the 9 oil you could actually hear a couple of the players (Campbell, Preece and Maun) clearly encouraging others not get involved and to concentrate on the game plan.

Hopefully a club that we'll never have to see at MP again.

I don't know what made you think that.

Every single time I come to the Mount I hear the repeated chants of "Id rather be a P*ki than a Ram"

I don't know where you stand at the mount to hear such ######, but in the 16 years I've been at the mount I have never heard it! I have to admit to hearing it at Dewsbury but I think that is the floating dogs support that turns up at the derby games. When our asian supporter was abused last season the majority of Dogs fans went bananas with the moron who spouted such sh*te. Call the loyal dogs fans what you will but rasist scum we ain't

Did any of you actually approach a steward or a member of the board and point out who was saying what?

Did I call anyone anything?

No, I made a statement of what as a Rams fan I hear every time I go to the Mount. Deny it, refuse to believe it, accept it or whatever. It makes no difference to me.

No doubt it is only a handful of your fans, but it happens all the same.

seems like a decent attendance as well considering the opposition.

Are we playing like a team thats gonna do well this season then or is it too early to say?

Good report.

They certainly were a very feisty team, with some very foisty supporters.

If I'd known I would have taken a cloth and a bucket of warm soapy water and given them a wash.

Sorry funkmaster, but I heard rams fans singing the selfsame thing about dogs supporters a few years ago in the south stand bar. I think we all have a small core of bin heads, and from what I have seen at all the various grounds, including ours, stewards don't want to get involved in anything that might be risky - like telling a mob of drunken louts to cut out the language or get out. I still think that, thankfully, our sport is still more racially tollerant and family orientated than most. Sad thing is, that the reputations of the decent Fryston supporters will be tarnished by the scumbags.

sad day yesterday to see what could have been a hard fought game like we all like to see turn into the bigest disgrace have ever seen at a game in 40 years, hell even us batley fans applauded the first try a frystons as it were a cracking play out side and caught us cold, not even too fussed about the fans who were asked to sit down to then have 10 a there mates stand up as to like prove some numptie point when all they did were block there own fans view and look fools themselves to everyone else.also aggreed the stewards aint bouncers so hard for them and only so much they could do in what i thought was a very tense situation that involved verbal/racist abuse to our players and the stewards and lady touchie, but for some a team to give high fives and slaps on the back for some a those late 4th man in cheap straight arms off girlie looking fool 4 on wally and danny maune were out of order and not rugby at all, shame really as a few of the fryston players had quality and wanted to play the game but the thugs won both on and off the pitch, well done to rest a the batley players for not getting drawn but just doing what was right and giving them a lesson in how to play a great game we all went to see and last thing we need is to have some a the more football like stewards we see at halifax and leigh or a large police presence but after yesterday it wouldent suprise me at all.

did anyone expect anything else?
i missed the game being stuck in northampton but when the game is up for the plucky amateurs, winning the biff is always next on the agenda.

Their 'day out' probably comprises of early meets in the club house saturated with boxes of bulk buy ale and dreams of seeing their peers turn over a proffessional club.

The stewarding at the mount doesnt usually require contracted Leigh'esque underworld bouncers, but when the amateurs visit on the pop perhaps the RFL should provide a fund to employ some zero tolerant muscle?

oulton v thornhill (couple of years back at MP) was another example of our friendly stewarding not being able to control baying crowd elements.

Karl cheers now move on the KEAR IS HERE!

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but there were two Police officers (a rare sight at the mount)ideally located in the closed terracing on the opposite side to the main stand just in case anyone tried to storm the empty terrace no doubt!!

Yeah, noticed that. Not very often you see plod down at the Mount. Obviously Fryston's reputation must travel with them.
