Just throwing it out there whether anybody plans to attend away games this season? I can't unfortunatly drive but live in Swinton and would be willing to put to for petrol etc.

Cheers

Assuming we have a good season im sure quite a few fans will be interested in travelling to away games. Is anyone interested in organising a mini bus etc to away games possibly with a local company. If anybody is interested in travelling to away games on a mini bus coach register your interest and we will see if it is viable numbers wise etc.

We used to do it a few seasons ago, don't know why we didn't carry on. I'd be interested because it would be much cheaper than petrol at todays prices!

With the trains now running from Swinton station a few of us will be catching that, I'll let you know when I know the score.
Dont worry, it will soon be Christmas!

I'd be up for that, it was pretty good when we did it 2005/2006.

I have no idea which would be the cheaper option train or mini bus coach? Looking at our fixtures only Oldham and Rochdale are local. Most involve some travelling London,Workington,Whitehaven,Gateshead,South Wales,Keighley and Doncaster. It would certainly be a good idea for home games for us fans to meet in a local pub and get taxis/mini buses to the willows.

I can't say for sure but I think some Swinton fans meet up in the White Lion at the top of Worsley Road as it's home to the Lions' Hall of Fame and where this year's main sponsor, the Swinton Lions Supporters' Trust, hold their monthly meetings.
It seems a good bet and if any fans have never seen the Hall of Fame it's worth checking out.
If any pub in Swinton is to be the meeting place pre or post matches surely this should be it!

A few of us meet in The Last Orders, the beer is cheaper than the Lion although would be good if we could all find an agreeable venue for taxis to the Willows.Would also be good if we could get some of the players to frequent a pub in Swinton after the game ,would be good PR for the club and its something thats missing at the willows where us fans dont seem to have any access to the players.

Regarding transpoprt to away games,I priced up a 14 seater mini bus from a local firm for the Rochdale away game on March 20th.Cost was £98 for a 14 seater toand from swinton. That would be £7 a head assuming it was filled. Not sure what train costs but obviously there would be additional cost from rochdale to spotland stadium and back after game.

First away game next week boys, Rochdale at Spotland. Anybody got any travelling plans then?? Minibus, Train, Driving etc. Looking at todays attendance of 681 there seemed to be alot of workington fans where i was sat so lets get away support going for the mighty lions!!!
