It appears from comments on here (the most recent from a Hunslet Warriors player) that we do not have adequate showering facilities for players after the game. If this is indeed the case, how in Gods name are the RFL sanctioning games taking place at Whitebank?
I understand the club was given some leeway initially whilst the ground was being readied last season, but come on! here we are 12 months later and we lack basic facilities that every amateur club in the town has.
We are fast becoming a running joe with stuff like this!

What Rocksinthehead meant was that some clown .... sorry gentleman . . . . forgot to turn the power ( electricity supply ) on before the players showered .... maybe its the same chap that forgot over the last 15 months or so to put bulbs in the floodlights eh ???

Well it must have happened two weeks in a row then because Darren Robinson was asking before Sundays game whether there was still a problem with the showers, the inference being that it must have been an issue previously!

The reason for this has already been explained, that the ground does not technically belong to the Roughyeds yet, it is still with the lawyers.
Given the debacle with Latics, CH is quite right to make sure everythig is water tight, as are the Council.
You would not start decorating your new house before you had actually bought it and signed on the dotted line.
We've got the keys but the owner is just renting it to us till it is sorted.
Frustrating, for everyone, and I am sure just as much for Chris Hamilton as everyone else.
You don't do big repairs on your rented house, you get the landlord to fix it, that's what you pay rent for!

What a load of ###### oldham have been playing from there for 12 month now, RENTING or not you have still got to have adequate facilities that the league requires, should be embarrassed of themselves, a professional outfit without any showers??

Hardly a big job is it!!

I wouldn;t know I am not a plumber.

So what you are saying is that the showers have not worked at all for 12 months?

By the same note, you wouldn't invite someone to your house (rented or otherwise) for a dinnerparty if you didn't have plates or cutlery!
Ain't it funny how you think you're gonna be OK
Till you remember things are never gonna be the same again?
Ain't it crazy how you think you've got your whole life planned
Just to find that it was never ever in your hands?

The showers haven't worked for a number of weeks, Paul March aid to me that when Hunslet Hawks played at Whitebank Stadium that the showers didn't work, and with what Toostrong is saying they still dont work. Its shocking that a Championship 1 club can not get showers for the players and Match Officials to use after the game, and with your pitch been in the state it has been because of the weather it must be against Health & safety. It cant have been nice for Whitehaven the week before playing 80 minutes of rugby and then a 4 hour coach journey home still full of mud.

The solution is talk Foggy out of retirement, why:-

1) We are clearly short in the backs as demonstrated by our problems for this weekend, one short anyway as Woodcock was a no show, so presumably a bit of budget left.

2) Odd job man to fix things at the ground. Could probably sort the showers or would know a man who can!

Foggy, time to get your underpants on outside your trousers and give us your best Superman impression.

COME ON OLDHAM!!!! COME ON OLDHAM!!!!!
