The 'Royal' title is absolutely fitting and well deserved.

As someone involved in local governance of their community, the lack of willingness of ordinary people to promote or involve themselves in any event involving anyone outside their immediate family is not down to the weather or lack of patriotism, its simply to do with the (percieved) threat of being sh*t scared of being sued for millions if someone slips on a profiterole.

This H&S boloney is ruining our communities and anything this govt can do to reverse it is welcome in my book.

...and as for sick bag, dont suffocate on it

What does it actually mean though? Why is it fitting, why is it an honour?

Off piste a little perhaps. Good entertaining nonsense though.

H&S is ruining our communities - how so? Good entertaining nonsense again.

Try it.
Try getting a community to take part in any organized event/project. In a great many cases the first question youll get back is 'what about health and safety?'. The second is 'Ill have to ask head office' which amounts to teh same thing.

Nonsense? Get out of your armchair and try it.

TRL would like to stress that you should not get out of the armchair too quickly or you may hurt your back.

Nice smoke screen from the ConDems to try and deflect from the fact that these barstewards are kicking the sevices in the teeth and maybe nobody will notice that the air base is being closed and pilots just about to qualify are being sacked just before they earn their wings.

We had a risk assessment on you when you applied to join the forum. Somehow you managed to pass it, despite the health and safety red alert. I'll have to have a word with Mr Drake to find out how you did it!

The big date in our calendar is 22nd, the day of the derby. That's when one side of the city will have several street parties.

my community's having one. I'm a republican and loathe the mountbattens and all connected with them, but I'm all for jolly up. Pete from the end came round and said we were having one and was I up for it. I said ok. We each told the rest of the neighbours and hey presto it's spark up the barbecue, get out the guitars and get necking the Hardy's Stamp Of Auistralia.

What's the problem? It's just a name. You don't ever have to go there and it's totally in keeping with very many other place names throughout the UK.

It's not like they renamed the town "IsntKateJustFab".

nope mountbatten is correct
it's the anglicised version of battenberg elizabeth saxe coburg gotha's husband. It was anglicised for the same reason the scgs anglicised theirs in wotld war one.

Good.

We've never forgiven them for laying siege to us after we told the king to sling his hook.

Whilst this is true, the Queen's children took her surname rather than Phillip's.
