Last year a Sparta Capelle/RC The Hookers juniors played a cross code game at Birmingham Bulldogs.

I am now involved as a "guest" coach of the current under 17 national Union side.
Martin Slagt the head coach is very very interested in testing these boys against RL opposition.

Due to the under 17's going to play in an international competition is Spain in May (why can we not organize such a tournament) funding to travel abroad again is zero.

What we would like to encourage is any under 17 teams that would like to have a weekend in Holland in June or July to contact me to talk about what can be achieved.

This is the first REAL opening that the union and league in Holland have the oppertunity to work together due to the open views of the senior coaches.

IF we can encourage these young guys to look at rugby (both codes) then the future of the game is looking a lot better.

Thanks for the replies through PM guys.
I will be talking with the under 17 management again on sunday as we have a full days squad session and hopefully we can sort some dates that suit.
