WELCOME

to NRL ROUND 3

Be involved in the top level of the game.
Everyone reading this is welcome to enter.

ROUND 3 QUESTIONS:

*Poll Competition:
There's been some big scores stacked up in the first two rounds of the 2011 season. So let's make high scoring the focus of our poll this week.
Here's this week's poll question:

How many teams in Round 3 game will score 30 or more points?
- enter in the poll itself at the top and put it in your posting. (The poll is anonymous so we can't give you credit unless it is in your predictions post)
...And now the main event of the week:
*Match Tipping Competition:
Name the 8 (that's EIGHT) winning teams in NRL Round 3 2011
*Points Competition
How many points will be scored by all the teams added together in R3? This is a competition in itself and will act as a tie breaker for the match tipping comp if necessary. This is used as the decider when necessary so do give it a go.
*HOME Win Competition:
How many HOME wins will there be in NRL R3 2011?
In rounds where the game is on the road and played at a neutral venue, the team named first in the fixture will be regarded as the home team for the purposes of this competition.

Round 3 Fixtures
Friday 25th March 2011
Parramatta Eels v South Sydney Rabbitohs

Gold Coast Titans v Brisbane Broncos
Saturday 26th March 2011
Penrith Panthers v Cronulla Sharks
Tigers v Canberra Raiders
Sunday 27th March 2011
New Zealand Warriors v St George-Illawarra Dragons
Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs v Sydney Roosters
Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles v Newcastle Knights
Monday 28th March 2011
North Queensland Cowboys v Melbourne StormWests

Animated awards will be given for the winner(s) of each competition question.

Match tipping scores will be added together as the season progresses to produce a Tipsters' Ladder which will be pinned to the top of the forum topic list page.

First week OK, last week tricky, this week?...
The best of luck to everyone.

Thought it had disappeared, but ir has returned - a bit like the elusive Barney, who's hanging on and hanging on this week.
Which reminds me, I'd better post my tips. Will have to wait an hour or so as my computer is being borrowed.

Off topic - soz. What a result from a team with backbone tonight. Halifax 20 - 32 Featherstone Rovers
Given the various none rugby aspects to this game Fev have turned in a great result - again. Sunday we were good - after just 3 or 4 days we've put in a performance that got better as the game went on.
Well done lads, well done Daryl, well done Rovers!

Now I'll hand you back to our Round 3 Comp!

You're not late, Jonni. It's still an hour or two to kick off - just cutting it fine Posted Image Good luck in your new home. Hope there's not too much work for you to do in it!

The first match shown here today is Eels v Rabbitohs and it's a live broadcast.

I'll have to wait for replays today as there's going to be a planned switch off of our electricity so that essential maintainence can take place. That's likely to happen in about 20 minutes time.

Results so far ... Scores of 30 or more

Sunday:
Warriors 12 - 25 Dragons Away Win - Dragons bounced back. Were you able to get to the game Kiwityke?
Bulldogs 24 - 20 Roosters Home Win - Doggies hit the top of the ladder as the only unbeaten side left, though Roosters ran them close.

Sea Eagles 26 - 12 Knights Home Win - Knights suffered a string of terrible injuries and literally limped to the final whistle. Great atmosphere at Brookvale.

Monday:
Cowboys 34 - 6 Storm Home Win - Cowboys were another team to bounce back this weekend and it was Storm's turn to struggle.

There were some real bounce-back performances there.
Standout performances for me were Rabbits convincing win over a dizzy Eels outfit, Sharks getting a stonking win over a poor Panthers side, Cowboys showing Storm how to master the conditions and dominate a match; Manly striking some good form and causing both havoc and widespread injury to the Knights' players.

Being a tipster in the first five rounds or so of a season is wickedly challenging - to say the least!

Round 3 Results:

Parramatta Eels 18 - 32 South Sydney Rabbitohs

Gold Coast Titans 8 - 14 Brisbane Broncos
Penrith Panthers 12 - 44 Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks
New Zealand Warriors 12 - 25 St George-Illawarra Dragons
Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 24 - Sydney Roosters
Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles 26 -12 Newcastle Knights
Wests Tigers 34 - 24 Canberra Raiders
North Queensland Cowboys 34 - 6 Melbourne Storm

Winning Teams: Rabbitohs, Broncos, Sharks, Tigers, Dragons, Bulldogs, Sea Eagles and Cowboys

Home Wins: 4 - Bulldogs, Sea Eagles, Tigers and Cowboys
Points Total: 345 that's 39 more than last week.
Poll (Number of teams scoring 30 or more points): 4 - Rabbitohs, Sharks, Tigers and Cowboys

Our individual scores:
Thirteenthman 3

Bourbon Rat 3
Rugby Female 4
GLasD 4
Barney 5
Usain Bolt 5
Kiwityke 4
Heeeres Jonni 4
So our two top tipsters this week again with a very respectable 5/8 are Barney and Usain Bolt. Well done to you both.We have just one Champion Tipster title to give though and given equal top scores this then goes to looking at the predicted points total. On this reckoning our Champion Tipster this week is Barney (-14) just pipping Usain Bolt (-19).
Nobody predicted the Points total exactly this week, but nearest again this week is Storm 2007 (-11). Second place went to Barney (-14), while in third place came G Las D (+9)
Two people shared our Home Win Award this week: Rugby Female and G Las D who both went for the correct number of
There were winners this week in our poll competition.Three entrants predicted there'd be four teams scoring 30 or more points: Rugby Female, G Las D and Storm 2007
Animated awards will be presented as soon as I create them.
Cheers, and well done to Barney and Usain Bolt - you did good! Posted Image
