Something a bit distasteful about this.

Your Probably right, but look at all the publicity Rugby League going to get, and its not scandal. if people in Brisbane didn't know that a new team in Brisbane is trying to be formed in the Brisbane area they will do now with the amount of media coverage this will get in Brisbane and beyond. the sort of coverage that Rugby League will get out of this would have cost millions to advertise in the press, TV and Radio. if a new team is formed in Brisbane by the men behind this they have landed on their feet running with stuff like this from a publicity point of view.

There was the South Queensland Crushers back in 1995-97. Although they weren't the best team going I think they got some decent crowds in the first year. Arguably it was the introduction of the Crushers which upset the Broncos which set the game on the path towards the Super Leaue war.

As for a second Brisbane team now, I'm not sure. Personally I'd prefer Perth and Central Coast which would at least expand the NRL geographically. A 2nd Brisbane team would help cement the game there with the rivalry that would ensue. Read plenty of arguments both ways and they all seem fairly convincing.

Yes, my preference would be to bring in a club from Perth or somewhere else.
With another club, Brisbane could become the new Sydney! Posted Image ... well with a few more clubs.

Still I guess this is just money and freebies are on offer so those concerned will enjoy the moment. Not sure that another NRL club in Brisbane will come off anyway.
