Just read on the Barrow message board that Greg McNally's gone back to Huddersfield (problems with travelling for training and playing?). Given our current and ongoing problems at half back, I'd like to think we may be interested in getting him on loan or dual registered, but, with our snail's pace at signing players, even one whose capabilities we already know, I'm not holding my breath.
Particularly after Sunday's shambles, if we did get him, it would cheer up everyone associated with the club. Come on Oldham, finger out.

In my opinion Mcnally is an opportunist who thrives with players around him to do the donkey work; Oldham don,t need a quick fix they need to build a solid squad; You are a proud club fighting adversity and you should have faith;

Spot on Phil. McNally was underwhelming for us last year as well. He is a fantastic support player but we aren't making too many breaks at the minute and the rest of his game isn't that good. I reckon he'd make a excellent full back for someone like Fev or Halifax where breaks from deep are a regular occurance.In my opinion Mcnally is an opportunist who thrives with players around him to do the donkey work; Oldham don,t need a quick fix they need to build a solid squad; You are a proud club fighting adversity and you should have faith;
We are desperate for another prop. Boults and Sutton are very good all round players but all the rest have weaknesses that are being exploited regularly by top class players. Look at the damage Wilson did to us last week. Wood-Hulme and Gilchrist have lots of promise but are hugely inexperienced whilst Ellison continues to have a shocking season. Clarke is fantastic at prop but most of his best performances come from loose forward.
Without St Hilaire and Brocklehurst out of position we are light in the centres as well. Bradbury looks a decent player but is being asked to do an awful lot in his first year out of the reserves at Saints. Wood is out of position at centre and is much better suited to left sided second row. A half back would also be on my list but outside of Hemingway I'm really struggling to think of a player who would be available and also tested at this level.
We need slight refinements to our team. The major problem is that refinements are needed in almost all positions apart from hooker where we have two high quality players in Whitmore and Clough. The only problem there is they have hardly played together.
I'm hopeful we will be looking at some players after Walker and Ashe left but we could do with fresh blood sooner rather than later.
