Following a committee meeting this evening Thursday 31/03/11 at Mold RFC a decision has been made that the club will be unable to allow any Rugby League to be played there for the foreseable future.
Falcons Chair Mike Roberts said "Although we are disappointed at Mold RFC's decision we respect it and understand the concerns some members of the committee had. I personnally would like to thank the members who supported summer Rugby League and what it could have brought to Mold RFC including increased membership, further press coverage and increase in revenue.Only last week Mold hosted the North Wales Crusaders the press coverage was worldwide with Mold hosting the first win for any North Wales team playing in a National Legaue. We only hoped to add to that history. Similar arrangements are in place at Chester RFC including American Football and Rugby League so we believe pitch wear and tear would not be an issue.
The Falcons will now have to a search for another suitable venue for the club. Anyone who has a venue or contacts that may be able to help please contact mike on 07747481473 or email mike@falconsrugbyleague.co.uk
The North Wales Crusaders U18s and planned Flintshire Falcons U11s were both playing out of Mold.
