Yep. I've had enough too.
If he won't invest any money in the squad, then neither will I.

We have our own ground, and our own bar, and yet Swinton can put a fantastic team out, whilst paying rent on everything. Even Rochdale, who's attendances we are close to matching, are in better shape. I don't buy this rebuilding tosh anymore. It's clear that all the money is going into someones pension fund.

I shall be at Hull, but only cos I've already bought my train tickets and want a good day out with a few mates and a few pints.

I have championed this club for long enough, and tried to remain relatively positive but, like many have said, there are other things to spend your hard earned on. Hopefully we will get a nice summer and I can have some good Sunday afternoon barbecues, although...I may watch some reserve team games. Houghy seems to know what he's doing there. :angry2:

Won't be going to many more games until significant changes are made, though, like you BR I have already booked train tickets for myself plus 3 for the Hull game. Looking forward to a day out...

Why did we enter a full squad into a tin pot train cup surely we should let the reserves play it and keep the squad for the league as promotion is the key or is there a ulterior motive like the grand final lose so we can't get promoted and our ground would never be fit for championship rugby our players last week against swinton were arguing with themselves. What made me laugh was seeing steve mcormack out with the team training never seen benson doing it. Chris Hamilton again is ruining the club all for a cheap buck . We have Wickes as a sponsor maybe they could sponsor a loo seat every game as the gents doesn't have one

BR- not a nice feeling when you lose the enthusiasm is it? I know you're a dedicated supporter and even you're waning. Can you see why people staying away is going to be a problem?

This definately is NOT an 'i told you so' post-I wouldn't be so crass. But isn't it a horrid feeling?
I really wish I still looked forward to Sundays :(

I don't read too much in whether you see coaches warm up with the players. Some do, some don't. Noone moaned last year that Benson wasn't leading the warm ups.

Its very simple this year. The players who we have recruited aren't as good as last year.

One person is to blame and that is Chris Hamilton. For some reason you have to believe that he doesn't want the club to be a success.

Great news re the Hull game. Sounds like we might all be on the same train then. That's at least 8 of us.

And OG... For the record, I've been disillusioned and stayed away before..That season when we lost every game.. So I do know how it feels, believe me. Thing is, when we became a competative team within our division, I came back. Some folk won't do that any more...Therein lies the problem. Expensive entry + poor product = barbecue...

We are on the 9.30 train from Piccadilly BR.

So many people are staying away now. If you would have said to me two years ago and would have stopped going to most games, I would have called you mad. But, when you miss a few, you get used to it and end up doing other things on Sundays.

The set up at the club is all wrong. You look at OAFC. Paul Dickov has hosted 3 question and answers sessions with fans. The last one was attended by Simon Corney. 200 people attended at a fiver a piece. Easy money and I'm sure they would have taken a slice of the profits from the bar takings.

CH constantly moans about the finances, but he can easily generate some additional cash if he had the guts to speak to fans.

Yeah, that's the one...Coming back at about 8pm I think. Planning on finding a bar in Hull to watch the Leeds v Crusaders tie on tv.... It's gonna get messy that day :D

Devil's Advocate Post.........................................

The truth is that we have our own ground but the investment need to bring it up to code as directly resulted in limited recruitment of local inexperienced players with a couple of experienced players like Noone, Ratty and Junior.

Question...What has gone wrong....this season up to date is worst than the season we lost all 18 league matches and got relegated from the Championship, at least in that season we played with passion.

Look at the league table 1 win and JUST above London and Gateshead (no disrespect to those clubs). The salary cap has been reduced this season for Championship clubs but every other club seems to be managing on the same resources.

Devil's Advocate??? if Benson is sacked, and can we avoid to pay him off, i would say no we can't. Who would want to come and manage the current squad of inexperienced semi professional players, with NO money to strengthen the squad. How are we going to recruit quality players on wages that our lower than any other Championship one club.

Who would you like to see as the next manager and Who is available, and i mean seriously available on part time wages with limited resources and seriously inexperienced players.. Only top amateur managers or assistant coaches from only lower league teams will be interested in coming to our club.

I think the investment need for Whitebank is killing the club. I am totally fed up with the current situation with Oldham....if we (sorry ) when we miss out of playing in Championship we are going to be in the lower championship league for a long time playing expansion teams but I will be at the next home game (only because I have a season ticket).

At least we not have the heart ache of losing another grand final.

Coaching change now and get some new blood in this week ready for skolars ( who will put up a fight ) or we are F***ED

Does anyone else wanna see us as laughing stock of championship 1

I'm not sure Tony Benson has any say over who be can recruit. And therein lies the problem.

Stop bloody moaning at least wait till we TB has a a full squad again, then.criticise the club and coach for its failings.
At the end of the season we shall see who the real losers and winners are
Salary cap breaches etc

Rob and others I sometimes look at some of your posts I think sometimes you watch a different game to all of us. Our players are not upto the grade. Ratty is now to old and plays the same old plays why haven't we approached foggy again but make me laugh if Chris Hamilton says who plays or not, look at the players we've lost due to some issues that people have with that man. He is ruining OLDHAM RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB. He's not the saviour. What happens when the club is in the ###### with finances again he will come running to the now 600 fans that attends our tin base. Marketing tip for wicks instead of bringing catalogues for the next home game have a transit full of step ladders for a fiver they will go like hot cakes. We need old players with a bit of playing nouse
For the last 3 years we've had a fairly decent squad now it's back to signing amateurs like the Best brothers. Next we will see tb and ch driving round Oldham askin people do they want a game.

I'm not prepared I this current climate to waste money when the chairman has done frig all to the club. We have a concrete comaony as sponsor but why isn't there any terracing yet.

We are doomed to play in this league forever as our ground isn't fit for our league.

Maybe I'll phone landsdowne road tomorrow and get some red and White Rose tinted specs for the next game

Stop moaning what planet are you on do you want to watch one sided games every week whilst parting with extra money for the privilege,if you want us to become another Gateshead or Skolars you get on with it I dont. What direction are we going in looks like downhill all the way with this lot even with the few experienced players we have and injury free.Like you say wait till the end of the season but then the damage will have been done with a fan base of 300 becase most of the fans that left will never return.Benson is not the man for the job he does not seem close to the players and never once does he come on to the touchline to gee up the team.
