Craig Gower has spoken for the first time about the prospect of returning to the NRL, saying that rugby league ''is in my blood''.

Gower has been playing rugby union for Bayonne in France's Top 14 competition since 2008 but is officially a free agent as of May 7. The premiership-winning halfback must weigh up whether to press for selection for Italy in the Rugby World Cup or add to the 238 games he played during an illustrious NRL career.

"Journalists are meant to be neutral, for God's sake." - Stephen 'Wiggy' Jones

"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore

"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

He doesn't want to return to Rugby League, want he wants is Rugby League clubs to make him and his agent offers, and then go to union clubs and ask for more. he's just using Rugby League as a tool to up his money in union.

I read that story on Friday morning and thought it was an April Fools. Must admit, I never rated Gower even in his Penrith days. It'll be interesting to see if any NRL clubs do actually want to sign him - I suspect TFIL could be right though.

He's not needed.
I suppose we'll see if anyone is desperate enough to take his bate.
