Well, what a truely disappointing game that turned out to be!!!

1st Half - Played some good stuff, seemed like business as usual after the dodgy gateshead game. They scored a few more trys than one would have liked but they were simple errors and nothing to worry about. Referee ok.

2nd Half - The referees evil twin came out instead. Shocking in defense, too many dropped balls. What the referee gave them a penalty for when we were attacking their line I will never know. Another worrying thing was how many times the linesman on the stand side called our players offside after kicks when they wernt. Not even close. Fair play to skolars they took it to us and got a bonus point. Thormans kicking was immense.

All i'l say is if we play like that against anyone else in the league we will get well and truely battered! Chris Tyrer makes seeminly zero yards although good in defense. I think our pack is too small and we are starting to get found out.

Sort it out lions!!!
Im only smiling because `no-one`'s found the bodies yet.

A fair reflection of the game Furryenzo but I would sum it up as not very good in the first half and even worse in the second.
I wish we would stop working on defence if this is the result as we have got progressively worse. Can't criticise anyone in particular but Cunniffe and Morrison put a lot of work in.
I believe we are down to 17 fit players and a few didn't look too happy today, Reay hurt his arm and Smith only played the first 30 mins or so.
We better start picking up or we may come down with a bump!

There was no injury to Smithy it's just that we only had one sub left with 20 mins to go so it couldn't really be changed unless we picked up anymore injuries. I spoke to the doctor after the match and he said Sams hand was badly swollen but he didn't think there was any break but he was going for an x-ray. So lets hope he is ok as he has been in good form recently.

Two items of possible good news. Thanks Riggy but I feel we will need a few more before our next game!

Worst result since we lost at Wood Green to them. Come on Lads, get it sorted, you have had an easy start to the season, now comes the dificult bit, what are you going to do when you face a real Attack? Whitehaven, or Keighley will provide sterner stuff, even Doncaster or Workington once they get themselves better organised. Pull your fingers out, Please.

A win is a win. Not great today but there was some decent defending late in the 2nd half when we had a fair few sets on our own line. Gavin Dodd got 2 yet again, sad that mr Ainscough couldn't score again to keep his run going but he did really well for the Hawkyard try. 8 wins in a row, can't argue with that!

No defending that. YES a wins a win, but in years gone by we have been smashing london and gateshead by 50+ points. I'm glad were 15 points out of 15, but what on earth is going on, some of these teams are going to wipe the floor with us.

In my opinion the team did not play very well - possibly because they get into the particular state of mind that they think the team against them will be easy meat............to be honest the real test in this league will in my opinion be Whitehaven .......

I am not saying we should win by over 100, but look at the forthcoming fixture list;

17.4.11 South Wales (A)
25.4.11 Doncaster (A)
8.5.11 Dewsbury (A) (Cup)
15.5.11 Whitehaven (A)

We should've used the fixture to bolster the morale of the team, now having performed adequatly, at best against Gateshead and London, we are now facing a tough period, including a Championship side and another unbeaten side in Haven, all Away from Home.

27th May is our next Home game, surely the RFL should shoulder some of the blame for this, no home game for 6 Weeks?

Form is temporary, class is permanent. Yes a disappointing show to concede a bonus point to the Skolars at home, the team seems to be limping through a little bit at the moment with a lot of injuries to contend with, but at least three points are in the bag and therefore no major damage done. The shape of the game indicates the Lions were never in any real danger of losing, just doing enough to keep the Skolars at arms length.

In many ways it is fortunate that the injuries have coincided with two of the easier games.

The important thing now is to regroup and focus on getting wins at South Wales and Donny, while some of the injuries are sorted out. We should be putting a side out with the ability to win both of these matches, but definitely need more of an 80 minute performance.

Re; the 7 week gap for home games, it is worth remembering the original fixture list had Swinton Lions v London Skolars scheduled for 1st May. Its not often I stand up for the RFL, but its probably harsh to blame them for the change of date which presumably was done to suit the two clubs in some way. Noticeably Salford City Reds don't have a home fixture scheduled between 22nd April and 13th May, so perhaps some pitch maintenance work is on the cards.
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

We were awful yesterday. Complacency has already affected our play. And of course injuries. The fluidity of earlier matches in our attack has only come in fits and starts in the last two games. And substitutions seem to affect our organisation so easily.

I thought Cunniffe yet again ran his blood to water and Morrison was none stop if unspectacular. In fact we seem to concentrate on achieving the spectacular when yesterday if we`d got the basics right we`d have won by a mile.

And anyone comparing the relative abilities of our threequarters as per last weeks discussion fancy raising those arguments again? Dodd played really well, whilst others need to learn what 40 20`s are.

simple answer to that...

do as oldham used to do and play the odd game at sedgley when boundary park was being relaid every summer.

or has the club burned its bridges there?

Think the fixture change was to suit Skolars who envisaged difficulties getting out of London on the weekend of the Royal Wedding.

We are conceding too many points ! not sure whether its complacency perhaps sometimes we have to credit the opposition with raising their game. Both Gateshead and Skolars were much better than most of us anticipated. The problem for teams at this level is sustaining performance levels.

Fully agree.!! Best start to a season in years and quite honestly it wouldn't troble me if we won every game by an 8 point margin.A win's a win.
Well done to all the players and good luck in Wales next week.

calm down people...... 5 wins out of 5, yes we was far from great in our last 2 but we still won and even better, teams who we have beat are beating other "top" teams so its all good.

ps... +/- wont come into it if we keep winning

It's called opinion and the reason for a forum in the first place, not a place for insults though!
It's the same so called fans who have paid their money to watch the club for however many years so forgive them showing concern when the fantastic start to our season stutters a little.
Three points on the bag yes but ask Steve Mac if he was happy?
