When the fixture list was published there was going to be 5 matches played on Good Friday then Swinton versus Keighley was moved to 7th August followed by Thunder and Doncaster now being played on 19th June. Both of those dates are free from any Championship 1 matches.

Town and Haven are about to knock hell out of each other on Good Friday whilst Swinton, Keighley and Donny have a rest, then on Easter Monday, Donny are at home to Swinton in their only game of the holiday period whilst a fresh Keighley are at home to Town and Haven are at home to Oldham, who also have a hard match versus Rchdale on Good Friday.

Three top teams will be fresh for their Easter Monday clash, although two of them meet each other, but surely it gives them an distinct advantage by only playing the one game over the weekend.
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.
