First half performance was superb. We made a huge amount of breaks but the difference this week was the support in attack we always seemed to have someone backing up. Boults and Clarke set the tone in the first half an hour and set a platform that Clough,Diveney and Ratty could build upon. I hope we take this attitude with us for the rest of the season. The second half we switched off after we scored straight after half time and London made it an arm wrestle. One of their tries was superb going through three pairs of hands and then a burst to the line from Pascal. They have some very talented players in Arnor,Coleman,Adebisi and Pascal.

Individually there were some excellent performances. Fogarty was superb at centre,Ellison was much improved and Stenchion had a hugely promising debut. He is very small for a prop but looks to have super hands and runs well above his weight. His defence was brutal, two shots in the second half in particular were shuddering. Isherwood struggled I thought again and Lucas made a couple of surprising errors but made up for them with a great length of the pitch effort.

We need more of the first half performance if we are to stand a chance in this league starting with Rochdale on Friday who have several super signings especially McHugh. Hopefully Heaton is fit as I still don't think Brocky is fully suited to full back, he looks much better at right centre. I'd bring Wood back in for Isherwood and see if Sutton is fit to come into the props and move Clarkey back to loose forward.

You won't find a player with better defensive technique outside of SL than Stenchion. His go-forward isn't bad either for a small guy. He was very highly rated as a youngster at Leeds, but never developed as expected in a physical sense, which is obviously why he was released. If he was four or five inches taller, he'd be a regular with a top flight club.
