i dont think you should be slagging off young refs who are still learning and given time and practice will improve, after all we haven,t got a glut of referees and also its a bit different to slagging off highly paid pro refs.Thats the Barton Townley final f*cked then !!
Couldn't control an under 10's game never mind an open age cup final !

TBH im not actually having a go at young ref's........................The B&D shouldn't be giving a Cup Final to a ref who is still learning ! If the game was to get a bit tasty I don't think Curtis could handle it...good luck to the lad but I think it is a bit much if Im honest !

if you have such an opinion on how bad referees are gary why dont you give it a go mate next course is on 31st of july at barrow island.TBH im not actually having a go at young ref's........................The B&D shouldn't be giving a Cup Final to a ref who is still learning ! but i think crutis is a good ref and has two good touch judges so it should be a good game. But to slag the referee off even before the game is played is very harsh indeed. you dont see the referee coming on here slagging off the dalton or ulverston players do you.I thought we had a respect campain round here guess i'm wrong.

I agree that being a referee isn't the easiest job and it's not something that I'd currently like to do.
With regards to the Frank Reid final, I have personally had the referee twice and on both occasions IMO he has made some very poor decisions and let a lot go for both teams. With both Walney and Millom being quite physical teams the game has got the potential to boil over during the 80mins and again IMO and I honestly feel the referee doesn't have the ability to control it, I hope that he proves me wrong and he has the game of his life.

I meant Curtis Rob........But I stand corrected if the lad has been doing National Conference games !
I hope the lad has a good game and that the final is a classic. My comments stem from last ytears final when, despite having an experienced ref in charge, the game got out of hand on occasions.
Tango - If I didn't work shifts I would still be playing mate so refereeing is out of the question. Im not saying that he is a bad ref, im simply talking about experience but I guess you don't get experience if you aren't getting the games and Robmac has said he is refereeing NCL so I guess he will do ok.

Cents, completely agree, out of his depth in open age rugby! Goes off what the crowd/players shout out ...
