The way this thread has died it looks like you could be right,i for one will be there. It looks like most Hornets supporters have deserted this forum or are more interested in politics behind the club than the team on the field.

I am a mere 5ft 8, I was in the second standing row down the side of the pitch, and saw all the action thanks.
And, it was a great way to spend 12 quid!!
I like that bit about "who cares wins". Your lot didn't seem to care, and they certainly didn't win...

Unfortunatley for me BR I'm 5ft 7, my wife is some what dissabled and can not stand for more than about 10 mins. The last time we went to Whitebank we tried to pay the tranfer to the seating along the far touch line only to be told that the seating was for Oldham fans only, as far as I know BR this breaks RFL rules that say that deals on offer to home fans should also be open to away fans.
We were directed to what could best be described as a shabby bus shelter, with bus shelter seats, the "disabled area". These seats were a good 10ft from the touch line and apparently the stewards are supposed to keep fans from standing in front of them, i know they are because one of the stewards told me so. When I asked the question "Why aren't you moving the fans" that were stood there blocking our view the very same steward just shrugged his shoulders and said "They wont listen" (well done). In short we saw very little of the game.
To top it all the beer was non existent and I had to drink warm cider from a tin, the pies were garbage and colder than the cider, the toilets were a disgrace.
All in all BR the day was a complete waste of £20, plus money for warm cider and cold pies, so don't expect me to pay the increased price of £24 for the same garbage treatment.

how bitter you become is that because you lost, if you asked the seats are for season ticket holders there are some spare ones and you pay 2 pound, the steward cant give you season ticket holders seats in case they turn up, and if you want to spit for spat i went to your place the other week and some horrible lady asked me to move from the seat i was sat in 1 hour before kick off i asked her why she said its mine i said there is no name on it she said i sit there every week i said i had been here for so long why should i move she then went to find a steward calling me a di..head as she went she never came back, moral of the story if you dont like it dont come back.

So when Oldham come to Spotland should we herd the Biff's into the Sandy Lane standing only end and charge them another £2.00 to take a seat in the main stand................ Whitebank is still a disgrace which hasn't improved over the year or so Oldham have been there. Oh forgot that the next 'improvement' passed by the planners is for another porta cabin for the offices, why not stick half a dozen seats on top of it and charge a couple of grand as a 'private box'with elevated view of the game?
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of......

Yes please.I would stand with all the Oldham fans together. Then you can see what a proper away support looks like. If we didn't turn up in such numbers at Spotland, then your average figures would make abysmal reading. By the way, I only saw about a dozen of you at Whitebank, thanks for showing up. Don't use facilities (or lack of) as an excuse because hardly any of you came to Boundary Park.So when Oldham come to Spotland should we herd the Biff's into the Sandy Lane standing only end and charge them another £2.00 to take a seat in the main stand................ Theres also a lot less Oldham Fans at Whitebank this season to,and yes i was there. We tried to park on the car park there was plenty of room but were turned away by the steward so we had to park miles away on the estate and my dad who is in his 70s was charged £10.00 for the privalage of having to stand in that heat and not be able to see half the match.Yes please.I would stand with all the Oldham fans together. Delboy, almost every away supporter that has attended Whitebank has the same opinion of the progress (or lack of it) after over a year of promises of proposed improvements. I don't see how anyone can be expected to put up with such sub standard facilities.
Most genuine RL fans would like to see Oldham RLFC develop Whitebank into an acceptable venue, but hopefully in our lifetime, not our grandkids lifetime. Is it any wonder the visiting clubs don't fetch a shed load of supporters. and unfortunately that will continue until there are huge changes for attendees!
As far as Boundary Park was concerned, that was another delapidated shamble where visiting fans were charge an extra pound or two to have the chance of an elevated view of the game in order to squeeze as much as possible out of fans. Talk about Ebeneezer Scrooge, Chris Hamilton makes him look like an philanthropist?

There are more than quite a few of us embarrassed by the lack of progress at Whitebank. I was one of many who flogged their backsides off to get it to any sort of standard. I don't know what agenda CH has, but I wouldn't mind knowing. We're ready to dig in again. The council are still trying to sort out the lease. Half the ground is not actually owned by the council (a good portion of the pitch 'end'), it's owned by the crown/some dutchy. Can't build on it if you don't own it. No one in right mind would build on the council bit without a long term lease. There are more than quite a few of us embarrassed by the lack of progress at Whitebank. All in all no good for anyone.
I do think we could do better with the portaloos (more and cleaner!). The rest is frankly out of CH's control.
With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Pies BR!!!!. Give them warm pies and cold beer and they will come!!!!
Seriously though just because I'm a miserable swine some times and decided not to go this year doesn't detract from what you Biffs have achieved. There's not many clubs that could find them selves homeless at such short notice and not only survive but find them selves in a new home.
What suprises me though is that having being release from paying rent at Boundary Park and paying next to nothing (I'm assuming) for Whitebank whats being done with the money saved? Swinton have saved them selves £30K this year and look at the team they've now got and where they are in the league.
I would have expected that the "made in Oldham" recruitment policy to be replaced with a "get the best money can buy" policy, unless CH knows that Oldham would not be allowed into a restructured Championship and is squirrelling away the money for future ground development or just for a rainy day. This would explain his opposition to Championship restructuring.
