Having only been 5 years old when we left Station Road, natually I don't have many fond memories of success for Swinton so I'll be making the most of it if and when we do it this season!

As things stand there is a clear dividing line, i.e.; on-the-field its going swimmingly, off-the-field there remains massive room for improvement.

Au contraire - what we have is a mixed bag, a curate's egg - i.e. "good in places". I've been talking up the team's chances of success this season for months! Real world is where we need to be.
The team's on-field success will not have maximum impact while people like Barnie feel "disenfranchised from the whole thing". As we all know the reasons for that are found off-the-field, ref Barnie's previous post on this forum "Are we back to being treated like mushrooms?". It doesn't need to be that way.
Its clearly great for those who have kept the faith to have a winning side to follow at long last, and very nice indeed to hear that people's enthusiasm for the club is being rekindled, and yes people cannot be blamed for getting a bit carried away in the circumstances. But - this is only the tip of the iceberg! What do these wins actually mean to a schoolkid growing up in Swinton who has never known the team have a base in the town during its lifetime? Just think how good it would be if this winning run were combined with a clear positive direction on the ground front! The future would look bright. As things stand, it isn't entirely clear where things are headed.
Some may not want to think as far ahead as next season and enjoy the moment, and good luck to them, but that day will be here soon enough.

I would question just how many true Swintonians are left living in Swinton following the influx of people into the town from the surrounding Salford districts but i take your point on board.Au contraire - what we have is a mixed bag, a curate's egg - i.e. "good in places". I've been talking up the team's chances of success this season for months! Real world is where we need to be.

Sometimes in life you have to put your trust into people and hope that the result will be one that you want.No matter how much you think the club should reveal all it's plans to everyone surely even you now realise that they just don't work like that and in rugby league and indeed football circles they are not alone.
I am hopeful that we will move to Agecroft next year and will do so as a promoted club and even better champions.
People are starting to talk about Swinton now and the only reason this is is beacause of the winning team we now have not the fact that we don't know what will happen in the close season, further evidence of this are the new faces at matches and the level of away support proof if ever there was that a winning side is the catalyst not a shiney new stadium although when it happens the latter will be most welcome.

The team spirit is excellent and they really appreciate the support they are getting so keep it up please and if you can bring a mate to a match then all the better and we can build the support even more.
Thanks for listening

And Im enjoying the moment, because lifes too short not to.
