As the season draws ever closer, I got to thinking about who would be the contenders for the National, Premier and Regional titles. After a good look through and a bit of research on the new sides, here are my predictions for the upcoming summer. Obviously those with a better in depth knowledge of the regions feel free to correct me or let me know who are the ones to watch!! Gearing up to be a great season all over the country

National Divison: Warrington Wizards

Midlands Premier: Northampton Demons
North East Premier: Jarrow
North West Premier: Widnes West Bank Bears
Scottish Premier: Carluke Tigers
Southern Premier: St Albans Centurions
Welsh Premier: Bridgend Blue Bulls
Yorkshire Premier: Leeds Akkies

East Regional: Bedford Tigers
London & SE Regional: Greenwich Admirals
Midlands Regional: Leicester Storm
North East Regional: Northallerton Stallions
North West Regional: Chester Gladiators
Scottish 1st Division: Falkirk RFC
South West Regional: East Devon Eagles
Welsh Championship: Neath Port Talbot Steelers
West of England Regional: Oxford Cavaliers
Yorkshire Regional: Not a clue since there are loads of teams!!

For Leicester Storm to win the Midlands Regional they would have to finish below Nottingham A and Birmimgham A in the initial grading stages. Without wishing to write off either of those other two teams, that's a bold prediction!!

Edit: Would help if all my predictions played in that division

I know I'll regret doing this but...

National: Warrington Wizards will start as favourites (though hate to go against Coventry, think we'll do well though)

North West Premier: West Bank Bears
Yorkshire Premier (West): East Leeds
Yorkshire Premier (East): Cutsyke
Midlands Premier: Northampton Demons
Welsh Premier: Bridgend Blue Bulls
Scottish Premier: Carluke Tigers
North East Premier: Jarrow Vikings
South Premier: St Albans Centurions

North West Regional: Rochdale Cobras
Scottish 1st Division: Not even going to pretend I've got a clue
North East Regional: East Cumbria Crusaders
Midlands Regional: Leamington Royals
South Wales Championship: Neath Port Talbot Steelers
South West: East Devon Eagles
West of England: Gloucestershire Warriors
East: Bedford Tigers
London & South: Greenwich Admirals

I'd have thought they'd only have to finish below one of them? Still I'd be stunned if Northampton and Leicester aren't the top 2 in the East Midlands, though shocks can happen

Vipertiger, can't say I disagree too much with what you have suggested.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Hemel or Warrington up near the top in the National Division. Northampton seem to have a good set up on and off the field, so can see them doing very well in the Midlands Premier. And of course, St Albans for the Southern Premiership is nailed on
Don't know too much about the Regionals I'm afraid..

Bristol are very tough and Leicester and Birmingham are good sides as well, should be a very competitive midlands premier playoffs, I'd probably predict a Northampton-Bristol final though Leicester and Birmingham aren't far behind. I'd like to see all 4 go into the Southern Conference next year, though obviously don't know the format yet so hard to predict

vipertiger and bowes - you both go for Carluke, but what about Edinburgh with their two 'new' signings - ex-pro's Paddy Coupar and Dave Vernon (see Paley's thread)? And although Carluke won the final, the Eagles did win the regular season game.

Should be interesting...

Fair point, I made the prediction before reading that.

National: Warrington Wizards will start as favourites (though hate to go against Coventry, think we'll do well though)

North West Premier: West Bank Bears
Yorkshire Premier (West): East Leeds
Yorkshire Premier (East): Doncaster Toll Bar (if it's their full team)
Midlands Premier: Northampton Demons
Welsh Premier: Bridgend Blue Bulls
Scottish Premier: Carluke Tigers
North East Premier: Jarrow Vikings
South Premier: St Albans Centurions

North West Regional: Rochdale Cobras
Scottish 1st Division: Not even going to pretend I've got a clue

London & South: Greenwich Admirals

I've heard that a lot of Fryston are going to Cutsyke.

Based on the London 9s, you'd have to predict Hammersmith as the Southern Prem champs. However, 9s isn't 13s, and it's a loooong season.

And based on the Midlands 9s it wont be Northampton, Birmingham or Bristol!!

There are certainly going to be a few teams in the mix in Conference National, anyone know what Valley Cougars are like? It's like going into the unknown

Supposed to be strong, just no idea how strong. If Bramley can sort out their issues there's no weak teams in the league.

Hey they have had years to spend time and money on developing their own juniors.
