Agree Country by a mile
You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if its late.

Well it wasn't a one sided game I predicted!!! Posted Image

It was nip and tuck all the way on a cold night.

Uate won the game for Country in the last minute with a run down the flank then cutting across under the sticks for a touchdown.
It was exciting stuff with some great halfback play. Ryan Hinchcliffe had an excellent game collecting praise from the commentary team throughout.
Hayne had a ggod game and probably just shaded it in his battle with Dugan for the fullback spoils - but not by much.

You have to question the sense in playing this game, especially in a weekend when club matches are being played.
Jamie Soward picked up what looked like a groin injury and limped off.
The game was enjoyable to watch but had the feel of a game that was surplus to requirements.
The risk of injury and exhaustion to players outweighed any value in playing the game for me. This especially as it was played on a competitive weekend - albeit with just four club games.
Scrap it or run it on a separate rep weekend (with the international).

Don't get me wrong I thoroughly enjoyed watching the game, but the risks outweighed the positives for me.

There needs to be a review of the playing of these rep games. Give them their own weekend if they are to be played mid season. Use common sense.

P.S. Further to my point above: Beau Champion had to leave the field in the first half with a shoulder dislocation.
