It was a wonderfull sunny, and very hot afternoon when Bobbie Goulding led Hornets out to face Castleford, who were flying high at the time. I think it was early on when Bobby put a drop goal over.
A bloke behind me was heard to say, i say Bobbie what on earth did you do that for. Or words to that effect. It was a fantastic display by Hornets who hung on to win 13- 12. Sadly i dont think it will be that close on Sunday.
JS in tomorrows Obbie says about the different worlds we are in. The difficulties in getting the lads in for training after working all day.
I would like to think it will be close, but if they can keep it down to about sixty they will have done well. Cas might well put a few second teamers in to give them a run out. Hopefully.

Apparently they will be fielding an almost full strength side?:blush:

It was a fantastic day - just when our effort looked to be faultering I can remember Bobbie "breaking things up" in typical Bobbie fashion by cuffing Dion Bird - they both got ten mins in the bin and we just got home what a win that was....

Re Sunday - I hope the lads enjoy it these are the games they should want to play in against the so called best in the business - as long as the effort is there I wont complain

Dosent suprise me Mal - they would be fools not too

The challenge cup can be worth a lot of money to them so they wouldnt risk any slip ups by fielding a weak team

It would be worth more than money to us, but I'll be happy for a good show :)

I think the score was 17-16 mate and believe me the game hung on one brilliant tackle from our left side defence that day. The guy was going over and was not only grabbed but lifted and turned in the action of tackling, if that had been a score i think the game would have gone the other way.

I too remember the Cas fans laughing like drains when Bobbie dropped that goal and I remember that when they kicked off the ball went straight into touch and the Bobster slotted over another two from the halfway line.

There was only one set of fans laughing like drains at the end, and Bobbie Goulding was coach!!!!!

As long as the lads give 100% I'll never complain.

I remember that critical tackle, Michael Shenton looked odds on to score, think it was Chris Giles who held him up. Then another player, maybe Lee Doran, joined in and they put him into touch. We were the only team to beat Cas that season.
