You see a score like that, and then (for the older supporters) think that it only seems two minutes since we won 33 8 at theLost 82-0
Boulavard. After Hull took an early 8 0 lead Oldham stormed back with 33 unanswered points. The 2000 or so Oldham fans
behind the goals at the scoreboard end going wild at the final whistle. Question. Has any team gone as far backwards as
Oldham in the last 14 years?

And yes, I dont think there is another team that has gone backwards as much as Oldham in the last 14 years.

On the pitch it was pretty obvious we were going to struggle no matter what team we played. If we played a full strength team we still would have beaten by 60+ and could have suffered even more injuries. On this count we were doing very well until the last minute when Gilly was twisted very awkwardly on his ankle I think and had to be carried off. Didn't look like he would be available for next weeks game. The majority of our young lads gave a good account for themselves especially Robinson,Diveney and Ward. Our goal line defence was pretty good considering the scoreline but we really struggled when Hull attacked from deep especially with Houghton and Horne running down the middle. Their two props caused us problems all day, especially Moa and you could see why there are in such good form.
I don't mean to sound harsh to the lad but Stephen Nield's performance today must go down as one of the worst debuts of all time. In the first half he carried the ball only three times, each time losing the ball and in defence he was appalling and directly at fault for at least four tries in the first half alone. He was so poor he had to be shipped out to the wing and Robbo brought into the full back role. I hope the lad can recover from that performance because it was a shocker.

It's the kids like my son that I feel sorry for. I drag him along to every home game whilst his mates are off watching the Rhinos,Wigan,Warrington and the rest . At least I have had the pleasure of Watching My team compete with and beat these teams in the not too distant past. Will he ever be able to say the same ? Maybe someone like Terry Flanagan might take pity on him and the rest of us and buy the club and run its tradition deserves. I can dream can't I?

Another prediction down the pan Rob!I bet York and Hairnets will get nailed to the cross with bigger scorelines tomorrow
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of......
