Well i thought we would get a tonking, but if you check the other RL board Hull are showing the true spirit of the game, giving our lads and supporters credit for trying to the end, even though we all knew we would get belted. Stop the whinging and points scoring between so called supporters ont web!,10 potential first teamers out, the young lads did their best, there were 17 lads in Oldham shirts who tried the best they could, support the lads who tried to take on a Super League team, Oldham havnt gone backwards in 14 years, just remember we are lucky to even have a club and a team, negative comments all the time aint going to help, get behind the lads, and FWIW 4 grand finals in four years, a ground of our own (which of course needs work), we have played well above our weight for a couple of seasons, but i for one are PROUD to be an Oldham fan!

Totally agree. PROUD to be there yesterday as an Oldham fan and very PROUD of the efforts of all the lads who represented OUR club yesterday. They certainly did their best for the full 80 minutes and were a credit to the club and to themselves.

Today's other matches should at least get our result into some sort of perspective for those who need it!

Agree completely. The lads played their best to the end and we should be proud of them.If we get to the play off final then this big game experience might make the difference for some of the lads. Remember these younger one's are developing and so need encouragement to make the step up and there confidence is easily knocked!

Onwards and upwards.
One for all and all for the one

Another positive is that there was a crowd of over 6K. Its a split gate is it not?

Yes but SL season ticket holders get in free
Ain't it funny how you think you're gonna be OK
Till you remember things are never gonna be the same again?
Ain't it crazy how you think you've got your whole life planned
Just to find that it was never ever in your hands?

I don't think anyone on here has had a go at the 17 lads who tried their best - everyone is proud of that.

However, to say that the playing standard isn't worse than 14 years ago is stretching it just a little. Also, we don't own our own ground and we have been unable to get out of the third division for a number of years. Going back 20 years we were getting more watching our A team on a Friday night at Sheddings than we currently get!!

Im not saying the standard is as good as it was back in the day, clearly the level we play at is öur level at the minute, we certainly should have won promotion to the championship, but would it have done us any good? Without the money coming in from speccys or backers, i doubt we would survive in the higher division, i just think that unfortunately we dont have the money or resources at this time, maybe its better to consolidate the club and sort out the ground, backers, more sponsors etc and survive on the gates we get at the moment than to blow it all by going boom or bust again? I just hope the 5 year plan works, it does take time and maybe if we get the ground a little better it would raise the gates by a few, ie. some terracing and proper toilets etc. I agree with you though Friday nights at
Sheddings with 2000 watching the A team was fantastic!! :). Just a shame that these days people just dont have the money to spend on season tickets, travel , entry fees. I just hope Oldham can survive and make some headway in the near future, by god our long suffering fans certainly deserve it!! :)
