Be great if this was a Fri night to avoid clashes with TV games and last day of Premiership.
Absolutely belting today, Smith was my MOM, the dummy he sold to a tired Dewsbury defence was the clincher with Wingy in support. Ainscough & Watson were superb, with Joseph bullying them all afternoon. Disgraceful elbow to Hawkyard who showed mettle to return to the field. Can't help feeling that we need to find a place for Gallagher as he is too good to be sitting on the bench and needs to lose some timber!!!
Mort kicking was flawless and all forwards worked hard to grind them down. Thought Brambini was good for them but the scoreline flattered them as we were the better team on the day.,Great draw but wish would have got Widnes, would've been good for the coffers and a chance to maybe progress!!!

Whoooooah - before that there is the little matter of protecting the 100% league record by winning away at Whitehaven - won't be easy!!
If it weren't for the 9 point deduction, Whitehaven would presently top the table.

Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

Maybe, but I think we have two games in hand over them.
Can't wait for this one though. See if we can better Salfords result and lose by less than 60!

I cannot do Friday night games and I am now stuck with the fact that it looks like this could be our best season for an awlful long time and apart from two (one of which I am on holiday) all our home games are on a Friday evening as well as the Warrington match.......such is life

I'm not happy about this "special match" being played on a Friday evening. It would have been a far more exciting "day out" for the fans if it was going to be on the Saturday or Sunday afternoon with a kick off before say 6.00pm. It would have been another Dewsbury type venture but even better due to a much bigger share of the gate money even though we're very unlikely to reach the next round. This is where Super League is grossly unfair to my mind. It's not going to be a "level playing field" due to Wire being full time pros and our lads working full time in addition to playing 80 minutes of rugby league. Also, don't forget, on the Friday night our players will have been working all through the day whereas the Wire will have been simply preparing for the game itself. My guess is that Warrington have flexed their Super League muscles by imposing their wishes in having what may be for them, a trivial match, played on a Friday. "Anyway, Swinton should be gratefull for getting us in the 4th round" they may have decided.

Will get a bigger crowd though. Wire fans will be made up of plenty of Liverpool/Everton football fans, who may have gone to the last day of the season rather than watch what they see to be a definite hammering.

If the game was on Sunday at 3, the crowd would have been what, 1-2 thousand less than what it will be on a Friday night, mainly due to it being the final day of the Premierleague season. Wire fans are used to attending games on Friday nights so i doubt it will effect their attendance. They got a really good crowd of over 6 thousand against Keighley, which is more than what we got when we played Wigan the other year. Plus this is another step of the challenge cup ladder, there will be more interest in the game as they're looking to win it for a 3rd season running and are one step away from the quarters. It doesn't matter if we play them after our lads have been in work, we are not going to win, we might keep it respectable but that's about it (at a huge push). The whole point of this game is getting the Lions a decent payday. if we get 6 thousand people there then (if the gate is split 50/50 with no costs incurred)we'll get the best part of £30k. Obviously that's probably hopeful because I dont know if their season ticket holders get in for free.
But whatever happens, we'll be there in force. Night games always make for a better atmoshpere and lets hope all the Lions fans are sat/stood together, it was a farce for the 2006 final!!!
Don't forget that we play Oldham the Friday after and this gives us a full 7 days recovery for that one, which is FAR more important in terms of the result than the Wire game.

If we had played on the Sunday i think the crowd would have been very poor as it is the last day of the Football Premiership on that day and many fans from both teams would have been missing. It should be all pay at the game as the Super League Clubs were only allowed to use their season tickets in the fourth round so the game has a potential pay day for the Lions.
According to the Warrington Website they will have 3 sides of the ground open.
I also hear that we might get some coverage on Boot's N All this week or next so please watch it if you get chance.
Should be a good night out for the Lions but there is just the little matter of Whitehaven away to get through yet.

Lets just hope the positive publicity we should receive in the next few days will attract as many people from Swinton as possible to turnout and support the boys on the night.Hopefully we can replicate the following we took to Wigan in 2003.One thing about our fans is that we may not be great in numbers but we certainly now how to support our team and make some noise. It was great to hear Paul Kidd acknowledge the part we played on Sunday in his speech in the bar at Dewsbury. There were only a handful of our fans left in the bar at the time but his comments about our support on the day received a great ovation from the Dewsbury supporters.

The only standing area will be the South Stand as the West stand behind the goals will be closed.

On the Swinton website it says to call to order tickets. Am I right thinking we can still pay on the gate?
Also, where will we all stand/sit?

Aslong as we are all sat/stood together I'm happy atmosphere will be amazing even if we are getting battered on the pitch let's all get singing and spur the boys on
