Just wondered if Bramley had managed to get a team together for the game on Sunday?

Hope that they have! Would be a shame to lose them from the comp

Just got an invite on Facebook to the game so they must be pretty confident that they've got a team.

Thanks for those kind words. Much appreciated. This is the piece referred to on the Buffaloes website confirming the game.

BUFFALOES GET SET TO CHARGE
Thursday, 12 May 2011 19:59

Troubled Bramley are finally ready to get underway against Huddersfield Underbank in the Conference National League this weekend, and caretaker coach Chris Gardner insists his side are ready to go.

The Buffaloes have struggled with injuries and player recruitment over the close season following the departure of former coach Mark Butterill and the brief tenure of the experienced Peter Roe at the helm and have been forced to postpone their two opening matches but Gardner, who played professionally with Bradford Northern, Keighley and the original Bramley, is looking forward to Sunday’s challenge:

"It’s been tough over the past few months but we’ve come through the other side and now we’re all revved up for Sunday for what promises to be a thriller at home to Huddersfield Underbank who did so well last season to reach the Grand Final.

"We were forced to postpone our opening games at Featherstone and home to Kippax due to player availability and we’re thankful to both clubs for their understanding. It’s a situation we’ve been the victim of many many times at this level over the past eight years so it’s only fair in that respect.

"We are hoping for a big crowd on Sunday at Stanningley for the season opener. Anyone who’s pulled on the Bramley shirt is only too well aware of how much of an impact our vocal fans can have on the action," added Chris.

I'm glad they've got a team together but that bit in bold is concerning IMO. Also many of the RLC sides in North West and Yorkshire will suffer. The plans for next season are more advanced in Lancashire than Yorkshire but even so will be interesting to see how this fits together.

There is talk of around a third of NWC Winter clubs going to the March to November season so it is bound to have some effect on the NW Summer Conference scene.

In some respects that will be a good thing because it may allow Summer Conference Rugby to rely on non Winter RL players.

From what I understand and at a guess 80% plus of NW Prem players are already regular RL players.

The NWC 16 - 18 Comps going to Summer may also impinge slightly on some squads.

Bramley Buffaloes 14 Underbank 50
A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.
He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.
And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

Huddersfield look like they had 7-8 missing from last years team and were not a patch on the team of old.

Bramley im afraid are nowhere near the team of old but everyone knew that.....if they perform like this its unlikely they will win a game.

Who would have thought that this weekends game against your team consists of 2 teams that are yet to win a game this season??
