Phil Gould is the new 'coaching boss' at the Panthers. He'll be deciding who the new coach is. It says in the article he won't be 'hands on' in the coaching department. But I imagine the thought of Gus Gould lurking in the background might influence any potential candidates for the coaching job. It's certainly a bold move.

So he'll be a kind of overlord.
Sounds odd to me. i realise he's been at Panthers before, not always with success.
Is this a sign of desperation at Panthers or do you think it will work?

It's an interesting idea. I guess it depends on who comes in as coach and how they get on. The potential for problems is huge though. Gould has his opinions and I don't imagine he'd be shy in letting the new coach know them. I guess this is one job Ricky Stuart won't be applying forSo he'll be a kind of overlord.

Could be the shortest appointment ever - Gould could be surplus to requirements as Matt Elliot's blokes produced the kind of performance they should have been all season beating one of the form teams, Broncos.
Michael Gordon's season ending injury could jeopardise their efforts to build on this success. he was instrumental in inspiring their win before he limped off and out of the 2011 season.

What has he done? He's a great player. How long is Lachlan Coote out for? Luke Lewis makes a huge difference to the Panthers, they looked so much better with him back.

Michael Gordon's ruptured his anterior cruciate lagament in his right knee. Up until that point in the game he was in outstanding form.
I was hugely enjoying his contribution to the game and really upset when his injury happened - he's in my Fantasy team!
Lachlan Coote has a groin injury that's affected him for over a year. He does appear to be close to a return to the Panthers team. He had slight chance of returning for R10 - but didn't.
So I guess there's a chance of him returning in R11 - Panthers could do with him. Doesn't seem that Panthers are taking any risks with him though.
Luke Lewis just oozes confidence and gives extra options and fire power to his team.
If Coote comes back fit and strong to a more confident team, Panthers could be like Warriors and start powering up the ladder.

Such a shame, would he have had a shout for a NSW spot?
Ah right, reckon they're going to need him!
Lewis is a fantastic player! I can't see them making the playoffs though .. Panthers are one of those teams i just don't enjoy watching ..

They could be though.
Last season they played some terrific attacking footy. They just haven't got going so far this season ... well until they gave Broncos a beating.
