Just been on BBC news that Doncaster's skipper Shaun Leaf has been suspended with immediate effect because of allegations that he betted on his own team to lose. They didn't say which team it was against!

It was against Wakefield in the Cup.
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

It was against Wakefield in the Cup.

BBC aleges it was only £200.
THe odds for Donny losing must have been 10-1 on! **
So he bet £200 knowing he would get £20!
How stupid is that

** made up odds

He allegedly placed a £200 bet at odds of 10/11 against his side losing by more than 38 points in the cup game against Wakefield.
If the article is true, it contains far more damaging allegations of match fixing by RL officials too!

If you read the same story on the Skysports website, that alleges there is also a further investigation into a bet in a 2009 cooperative game.
In the First 48.....

Wow that is even worse. That is as bad as the cricket scandal.
It still stands all that for £200.
It must go much deeper 20 games at £200 is still not worth that risk.
