Rettie has impressed me whenever I've seen him I must admit.
A good professional performance based upon sound defence will blow York away tonight.

Hope I can pick up the game on my computer.
You can watch it live on your computer by going to myp2p click on Rugby then scroll down to the Dogs v York game then click on the TV screen on the far right then press play. Starts with an advert after you press the play button.
There is no need to register or sign in.

William Hill have given York 18 start. Sounds a little low to me

Fair play to you Shadow45. You sound like a true supporter - thick and thin and all that. Hope you have a good night at the Mount (but not too good, obviously! It does to me Piggy, but still will be on my way to the Mount, hope the sun will still be shining in good old Batley
So come on you Knights!

York were poor against us (yes I know they best us), so it should be easy for Batley.

Got to say I expected more from York than that. We were excellent in patches, but was almost at a canter at times, no disrespect to the Knights.
Thought at the very least they'd have a decent kicking game, but Thorman was anonymous.
Tiger involved in nearly every try, and Preece was excellent, as were Hesketh, Robbo and Potter. MOM today for me was Alex....3 tries and took 3 players to take him down every time.
Hope Daley's injury isnt too serious.

Have to agree. We made the perfect start. Fantastic opening 15 mins. We switched off a bit for 10 mins innfirst half when they scored their points but must have been hard as it was like a training session at 1 point. Tiger had a great game and agree with nick the he was involved in everything tonite. AB was quality and 5 tries from the wings shows why we shouldn't persist with the blind side passing. Great game all round. Good passing. Great knowledge of the ground by Tiger with a great kicking game. Not gonna get carried away because York were poor, however points on the board will do for me. Nice little break b4 Toulouse and away we go again. Roll on the play offs I feel. Good banter with Tiger after preeces try was also highly amusing!!!

Well played Batley, you look a very very tough solid side, play the basics very well and have pace and power all over the park, fair play to Reittie, looks a different class to the lad that left York, not sure what you are feeding him, looks bulked up. liked the fact apart from one bad high tackle on Sutton your lads just play a hard fair game and on that showing(as poor as we are) you will be up there scrapping for honours again.

Cheers Andy,
Yeah we've started really well this year...just hope we can keep it up. Helps having a strong squad with lots of different options for the first time in a long while. Having players like David Toothill and Johnny Campbell not even making the 17 being a perfect example of the strength in depth we have (barring injuries of course).
You looked to have some decent individuals and were quite dangerous when you spun it out wide. Just really seemed to struggle in defence, with far too many gaps....at times with us not having to do very much to create them, especially out wide. It was also quite noticeable how you lacked any real impact forwards. Very disappointed with Thorman too, as I expected your kicking game to cause us problems.
A couple of big forwards would make a massive difference I think, and perhaps give Thackeray and Presley more territory and freedom to play in.
Keep the faith though, there's still a long way to go and anything can happen in this division.
Best Wishes for rest of the season

Watched the game on SKY and thought it was a good game. I don't think York were as bad as all that, more that Batley were better.

Well played Batley, good team, good coach and a good ground, enjoyed my pint before the game with the Batley fans. See how you ran the Giants close, you play the simple game of rugby league well, big forward, decent half backs and players with strength, skill and pace, you should do well for the rest of the season. All the best for the rest of the season and hope to see some of you at HS

Good performance by all. Brown and Tiger the standouts for me and our forwards esp Byron at the start of the game were excellent. Lucky for York George wasn't playing as he would have ripped them to bits!

Good performance by Batley but York were woeful - it makes the Rams defeat by them even harder to take.
I was impressed by the amount of time Robinson spent on the pitch proving that he's much more than an impact player. Handforth was excellent and looked as if he had all the time in the world, and a shout for Ian Preece too who looked great (once again KH is getting performances out of players that others failed to do).
Great views over Hanging Heaton in the evening sunshine too.
Play-offs should be a cert but can you make 2nd or 3rd? I for one wouldn't bet against it.

Agreed. A good, workmanlike performance. I think York were missing a few through injury, and Thorman played, although not 100% and unable to kick.
Daley looked in a bad way when he came off.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. IF we can maintain the performances (and the danger of injuries to key players is a worry to me), we should be OK for a play off place. The way Leigh and Featherstone are playing at the moment, I think 3rd is the best we can realistically hope for. I'd settle for that, though!
