A mate and I are taking the day off on Wednesday to head in to London (we both live just outside of the capital) to watch Origin I. We did this a few years ago and went to the Shepherd's Bush Walkabout where there was a great atmosphere and we had a real laugh.

We may head there again this week, but wouldn't mind trying somewhere different. Any suggestions?

The Walkabouts are probably the only guaranteed places that will be showing it.

But at least at that time in the (UK) morning it won't clash with much other sport (apart from French Open Tennis).

So you might want to try asking the landlord of somewhere like The Hope. A nice pub which does sometimes show Rugby League, although I haven't been for a while. Directions - turn left out of Goodge Street tube station, turn left again and it's right in front of you.
"Journalists are meant to be neutral, for God's sake." - Stephen 'Wiggy' Jones

"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore

"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

I'm working just off Marylebone High Street on Wednesday lunchtime/afternoon, so would be keen to find somewhere with the 2nd half of Origin nearby. Does the Pontefract Castle still show RL?
disques vogue

The club where Eurovision isn't a dirty word. A waltz through the leopard skin lined world of Tom Jones, Bert Kampfert and Burt Bacharach. Step out to the sound of the happy hammond and swing to the seductive sounds of the samba.

DJ's, raffles, cocktails and wide collars. Please dress smart. Gentlemen might like to wear a suit.

Same price. Same music. Same rubbish prizes.

Great to hear there's a Pontefract Castle in Marylebone.

Pontefract and its ruined castle are just two or three miles away from me here in Yorkshire.

Hope you find your Origin coverage.
